Job Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Sander Geophysics (SGL) specializes in high-resolution airborne geophysical surveys for petroleum and mineral exploration, as well as geological and environmental mapping. The company carries out airborne gravity, magnetic, electromagnetic, and radiometric surveys, using fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.
This position reports to the Specialized Work Manager and Ottawa Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities of the Position
- Maintain the company aircraft as directed within the scope of license, capabilities, and authority granted in accordance with the MPM and CARs;
Perform sheet metal, composite or other structural activities on various aircraft and components as required;
Record all work done on appropriate forms and provide an ACA release as required;
Supervise, mentor and train apprentices as required;
Confer with the Maintenance Manager(s) to identify aircraft, shop and field issues and to discuss maintenance requirements and solutions;
Understand, comply and promote all company policies and procedures including reporting of hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations;
Maintain a positive attitude toward personal and professional growth;
Assist in the activities carried out by the maintenance group;
Maintain a safe and clean work environment; and
Willing to travel domestic and internationally to perform repairs in the field.
- Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license type “S”;
Experience on C208, DHC-6 a definite asset;
Valid passport and driver's license;
Ability to obtain Transport Canada restricted area pass;
Excellent organization skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; and
Available to work after-hours occasionally as required.
