With and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for the leadership of the Human Resources problem solving and autonomously accomplishing goals and objectives to recruit all levels of talent for our corporation as well as foster and lead initiatives for Corporate Culture.
Strategic Planning: development of HR strategies and process implementation to recruit the best talent in the industry to West Wind and its subsidiaries.
Develop, implement and maintain a compensation program including job description process, job evaluation, salary administration, external salary reviews/surveys, to ensure West Wind is always seen by prospective team members to be the best choice as a place to contribute their talents and skills.
You are the Corporate Leader for the company in regard to all matters regarding labour relations and the collective bargaining agreement.
Develop and direct the implementation and maintenance of a company performance management system including performance evaluations and pay for performance system.
Oversee all recruitment process and direct the selection of high quality, qualified candidates as well as participate in analysis and planning regarding retention strategies and programs.
Research, create, coordinate and direct on-the-job training subsidies and government grants.
Advise and assist management with compliance to applicable legislation (i.e. employment standards, human rights, Canada Labour Code, Transport Canada Duty and Fatigue regulations).
Create and direct an internal employee communications strategy, as well as overall communication planning.
Facilitate and support management with team conflicts and interpersonal issues including lay off, termination and disciplinary actions as well as performance recognition strategies and promotion.
Discretion: all work must be completed and maintained with absolute discretion & confidentiality.
Post-secondary education degree with a Human Resources or Business focus
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation required
3-5 years in a Human Resources Leadership role
1 year experience in an aviation environment would be considered an asset
