Flight Instructor (s) (Class 3 or Higher)

Current Opening(s): Flight Instructor(s) Fulltime (Class 3 or Higher with the ability to train Multi Engine and/or Instrument Ratings)
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ALL FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS,
(include any and/or all the following):
1. Participates in the company’s safety management program;
2. Participates in initial, recurrent and additional training when required or upgraded to new job tasks;
3. Maintains flight proficiency for each course that is instructed;
4. Adheres to all Transport Canada regulations and departmental policies and procedures;
5. Researches new and improved teaching techniques;
6. Meets with each student as published on schedule;
7. Ensures that all flight lessons are completed according to the associated training curriculum;
8. Ensures that all required training with PCC students are completed in accordance with the PCC guidelines developed by WWFC;
9. Ensures that all appropriated endorsements are made in the student’s PTR and Day Sheet;
10. Ensures that student’s are provided with guidance, goals and follow up for all training provided;
11. Ensures that all training activities, flights, and briefings are conducted during normal business hours;
12. Assists in development of curriculum and materials required for the Flight Centre;
13. Assists in supervisory roles as requested by the CFI or Designate;
14. Assists in WWFC special events, marketing presentations, tours and assigned tasks;
15. Assists in operational control functions as required by CARs;
16. Assists in aircraft handling and security; and
17. Required to work specified times (Both for Part-time and Full-time Instructors);
18. Assist in departmental activities which include attending meetings and performing other duties as assigned by CFI or Designate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
• Knowledge and instructor certification appropriate to the position sought;
• Knowledge of CARs and Transport Canada Regulations;
• Knowledge of various flight instruction instrumentation and equipment;
• Interpersonal/human relations skills;
• Ability to market and sell services provided by the Flight Centre;
• Verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to instruct/teach/tutor to groups or individuals;
• Ability to approach problems/decisions analytically;
• Ability to reason logically and methodically;
• Ability to perform under stressful circumstances; and
• Attentiveness to detail.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience equivalent to:
• Valid Instructor Rating (at the required level appropriate for the training);
• Current IFR Rating (Group 1); with preference to experience on a PA44;
• Valid Medical Certificate; and
• Valid Radio Operator’s Certificate.

Preference Given to:
• University or College Education;
• Prior Experience training initial Multi Engine Students;
• Prior Instructor Experience; and
• Supervision or teaching background.
