Duties and Responsibilities

Kisik Aerial Survey is looking to hire a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to join our team. This candidate will work in Kîsik’s maintenance department in Vancouver; however, flexibility for occasional field work may also be required.

This position will be responsible for:

a) Carrying out maintenance and repair of aircraft and aeronautical products as instructed in accordance with the policies and instructions of the company’s manual and Transport Canada regulations.
b) Completing and certifying logbooks, worksheets and filling out tags as required for the work accomplished.
c) Assisting in the instruction of Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineers by practical illustration and guidance, and supervising and releasing all work accomplished by the apprentices.
d) Ensuring that apprentices under their supervision in the shop and hangar areas are observing safety precautions in the performance of their duties.
e) Maintaining a clean and functional work area.
f) Ensuring that appropriate manuals and other available information are utilized in the work carried out and supervised over.
g) Attending training courses as directed by company management
h) Carrying out the responsibilities described in the company Safety Management Plan

Qualifications and Experience
Must Have:

a) Must hold a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License
b) At least 2 years of experience in a similar position and type of aircraft
c) Ability to oversee and guide Apprentice Maintenance Engineers
d) Good working knowledge of CARS
e) Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment
f) Sound verbal and written communication skills
g) Demonstrated high standards of professionalism and safety in all work-related activities
h) Valid Canadian Passport
i) Ability to work in-the-field for short durations, when operationally required

Qualifications and Experience
Ideally, you will also have:

a) Adaptable, resourceful and creative problem solving skills
b) Piper Aztec and/or Piper Navajo familiarity and work experience
c) Cool stories to tell us
