Job Description:

GAL AeroStaff, which provides specialized staffing and recruiting services in the Business & Commercial Aviation industry, is presently seeking Structural Assembler in the Toronto area for 1 year contractual positions. GAL AeroStaff is an internationally approved OEM service provider/supplier. We offer competitive salaries, as well as a professional and ethical work environment.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Structural Assembler is responsible for assembly, of prefabricated parts to manufacture fixed wing or aircraft subassemblies.

In this role, you will:

Read and interpret aircraft assembly diagrams.
Assemble and fit pre-fabricated parts to form subassemblies, working at benches or directly on an aircraft structure.
Assemble, fit and install pre-fabricated parts and subassemblies such as aircraft skins, flight controls, rigging, hydraulics and other mechanical systems.

Selection Criteria:

High School Diploma
Completion of a college or other program in aviation or aeronautical technology, with an emphasis in aircraft manufacturing.
Minimum 5 years experience as a structural assembler

Key Measurements of the Position:

Maintain professionalism.
Ability to accomplish duties required effectively and efficiently.
Keep Production Supervisor informed of daily operations.
Ability to deal with added day-to-day issues and concerns.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Ability to set up jigs and fixtures.


Quality/ Environmental Management System Responsibility:

May initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process, and quality/ environmental system.
May identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality/ environmental system.
May initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
May verify the implementation of solutions.
May control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfied condition has been corrected.
