WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Coulson Aviation is expanding and looking to add new team members to its paint and finishing department. This is a great opportunity for a chosen candidate to grow your career with ongoing training and exposure to many different and unique projects ranging from large fixed wing aircraft and helicopters, as well as newly manufactured parts and automotive projects.
This full-time position is based at Coulson Aircrane Ltd’s airport facility in Port Alberni BC.
• Report to the Painter Supervisor and asses the needs of the day.
• Duties include, but are not limited to:
o Aircraft Painting
o Prepping all surfaces that may be found in Aviation, from Aluminum to composites
o Prep work
o Detail touch up
o Polishing as required
• Become proficient in the day-to-day operations and paint processes to assist the Painter Supervisor in meeting tight deadlines.
• Set up the paint booth
• Organize paint booth to become fully functional and efficient
• Report to the Painter Supervisor to assess current needs of the day and which location will require attention
• Polishing duties and all other related tasks as required
• Paint stock inventory
• Location clean up for all areas of the Painting Department
• Become a long-term part of the Coulson Team to assist in the fast-paced, busy, and diverse shop environment.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a Painting / Prepping or similar role
• Knowledge of paint properties, mixing, application onto a variety of different surfaces
• Experience in the aviation industry an asset
• Good communication skills
• Able to work independently
• Able to follow instructions
