Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, designate or ACA Lead, this position is responsible for repairing and maintaining aircraft avionics equipment; performing scheduled and unscheduled avionics tasks; troubleshooting aircraft avionics systems; overseeing the work of and assisting avionics apprentices; and ensuring Air North’s facilities, including avionics shop, tools, and equipment are maintained to industry standards.
You would be a great fit if you have:
Experience repairing and maintaining aircraft avionics
The ability to verify parts installed onto the aircraft are properly certified
Experience troubleshooting avionics systems
The ability to perform all duties under stressful conditions beyond the employee’s control
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Strong decision making skills
The ability to work as part of a team
Qualifications/Conditions of Employment:
Minimum of 2 years related experience
Valid Transport Canada M2 License
Endorsements on aircrafts operated by Air North; Boeing 737-3/4/5, ATR42-300/320 and Hawker Siddeley 748
Must be able to attain a Transport Canada Restricted Airport Security Pass
Required to maintain a valid Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
Be physically fit (able to lift up to 30 pounds repetitively, able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, work in pressurized environment)
Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or show proof of right to work in Canada
Please note that the positions will only be available in Whitehorse. Selected candidates must be willing to relocate. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.
