The Director of Maintenance (PRM) is responsible to the Accountable Executive for the co-ordination and performance of the maintenance functions. He/she will ensure that these activities are accomplished in accordance with the prescribed policies and procedures. The PRM shall meet the requirements of CAR 573.03(1)(c) and (d), subsection 573.03(6) and CAR 573.04.
Duties consist of, but are not limited to the following:
 Supervise the maintenance, repair, modification, overhaul and alteration of aircraft and aeronautical products;
 Act as liaison between the Organization and Transport Canada regarding maintenance and related subjects;
 Provide exceptional service to our customers by ensuring the highest standards of communication and professionalism;
 Provide the Organization with direction, policy respecting aircraft maintenance, parts, materials and support equipment;
 Oversee the Safety Management System (SMS) & Quality Assurance Programs per the Company Manuals
 Formulate and approve policies and procedures that will ensure proper management and efficient operation within the maintenance department;
 Responsible for the control, distribution and preservation of records relating to the maintenance functions carried out by the organization;
 Assign production tasks, identify problem areas and ensure the completion of the maintenance performed;
 Ensure that maintenance personnel are competent regarding maintenance methods to be employed in the performance of work;
 Ensure that inspection and maintenance packages are complete with respect to the work contracted to the organization;
 Ensure that the work performed and certifications have been entered in the aircraft maintenance record prior to the aircraft's return to service;
 Monitor aircraft inspections, repair and modification processes including quality of shop and/or work performed by external agencies;
 Issue maintenance personnel, qualified to perform aircraft certification, certifying authority;
 Ensure that sufficient parts, materials, special tools and equipment are available to accomplish the maintenance tasks;
 Ensure that current technical publications are available to, and used by maintenance personnel performing work on aircraft and components;
 Ensure the condition and cleanliness of the work place and equipment is maintained;
 Ensure calibration of precision tools and equipment are current prior to use;
 Ensure a maintenance personnel training program;
 Maintain records of maintenance personnel for training, ratings and qualifications;
 Issue certifying authority to personnel qualified to perform certification;
 Ensure Service Difficulty Reports are submitted to Transport Canada within the required time constraints and that a filing and follow-up program is established;
 Ensure the Company MPM, DIR, and technical reference publications are up to date and amended in a timely manner;
 Ensure quality of aircraft maintenance workmanship by compliance with the manufacturers recommendations and/or industry standards;
 Ensure that corrective action is carried out to rectify any deficiencies identified by the quality assurance program
 Perform aircraft maintenance/repair work as required
 Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned by management
 Actively participate in the HeavyAero Safety Management System and Quality Assurance programs
 Respect and uphold all the Company policies, procedures & performance expectations
Candidates must have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude as well as proven expertise in performing maintenance and repairs in accordance with their training, regulatory requirements and company procedures. You will require knowledge of aircraft materials and parts and a strong understanding of the regulations governing their acceptance for certified aircraft and the process of quarantine action.
Minimum Requirements:
 Qualified as PRM, as set out in CARs 573.03 and CAR 573.04, including a minimum of six (6) years experience in the performance or direct supervision of maintenance activities of the type undertaken by the organization, at least six (6) months of which have been obtained within the preceding two (2) years
 Hold a valid AME M2 license
 Quality Assurance training or equivalent industry experience
 Endorsement on at least one (1) aircraft listed within AMO scope of services
 Experience with aircraft listed within AMO scope of services as well as Beechcraft 1900 considered an asset
Strong knowledge of:
 All related regulatory requirements
 Safety Management Systems & safe work practices
 Quality Assurance program
Proven success with:
 Knowledge of the Company’s Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) manuals, policies, and other documents which are required Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA)
 Managerial skills including selection, coaching and counseling team members, evaluating performance, team building and administration and operation planning
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
 Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness, operations management & implementing best practices
 Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives
 Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
 A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
 Operating in a fast pace, community environment
 Knowledge and application of Safety Management System policies and procedures
 Problem-solving skills including conducting investigations in areas of non-conformances to find the root cause and reduce probability of recurrence
 Understanding the effect of Human Factors in Maintenance operations
 Computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
 Experience using WINAIR an asset
 Flexibility to work shift work and additional hours including evenings and weekends as required
 Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
 Must be able to acquire and maintain a Restricted Airside Identification Card (RAIC)
 Must be able to acquire and maintain an Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP)
 Must have a clean criminal record
 Must hold a valid passport and driver’s license
 Must hold a current AME license
 Due to the safety sensitive nature of the job and possible customer requirements, applicants must be willing to complete pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing

 Work involves exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and noise
 Work involves physical risks such as working around mechanical, chemical and electrical hazards which can be dangerous if not handled correctly
 Must be able to meet the physical tasks of the job (e.g. standing, walking, wearing a respirator, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting, working from heights & confined spaces etc.)
 Must be able to see, hear and properly communicate with others

Personal protective equipment, as defined by the Company, will be provided and must be worn.
