Post by Strega »

Anyone flown an late model 162F with all the updates done?

I have a chance to buy one cheap, but not really sure about them.

Cheers

A little late responding, but here goes. I currently own a Jetexec. After training and passing my rotor license on the R22, the Jetexec is an absolute joy to fly. Very stable and predictable. Although, I did enjoy the sporty feel of the R22. I've heard the normally aspirated piston engine 162F can be a little underpowered with 2 people aboard, but the turbo model really performs. One has to be careful in purchasing a completed Rotorway. There are some very important updates that need to installed. As there is no requirement for ADs, it's up to the owner to research the upgrades. Rotorway is quite good in posting on their site these. Some really smart people and long time owners have also added some crucial upgrades. Don't let the naysayers scare you off either. Lots of these have been flying for hundreds of hour safely. Maintenance is easy and affordable.
