How is a helicopter rotor blade structure?
Hi everybody,
Could you help me to know about the helicopter rotor blade structure? Could you show me some materials or photos involving that?
Thank you very much!

Re: How is a helicopter rotor blade structure?
It all depends on the type of helicopter.
You have everything from modern composite blades, to fiberglass, to aluminum sandwich, to wood core blades on older machines like the Bell 47, or even the Kaman K-max. Some blades are hollow, very susceptible to damage, to solid blades that can take quite a beating.
You have any specific types in mind?

Re: How is a helicopter rotor blade structure?
Hi "sky's the limit",
I'm modeling a Helicopter rotor blade structure. Its specification are: chord = 250mm, radius = 4500mm, all structure material of Aluminium, 2 spar webs with thickness of 30mm, skin thickness of 5mm, leading edge skin thickness of 10mm. Is it a reasonable structure? I need some documents to refer a structure of helicopter rotor blade. Can you help me?
Thank you very much for your help

holy crappoliy. Are you trying to build a working blade for a model? That's a lot of effort
stl....the K-max has wood core blades? wow.....the things I don't know that constantly surprise me

I've been looking through all my computerized training material on various types, and there's no decent cross-section slides of blades.... Is this helicopter supposed to fly?
