Ground Course Material

Post by hilicopter »

Hello

I've yet to decide which flight school to attend but I would like to review some of the ground school material to see what its all about.

Can anyone tell me how can I get my hands on the ground course reading material? I'm assuming all Canadian flight training schools use the same material.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,

You'll find more discussion geared towards helicopters at http://www.verticalmag.com/forums/can/ don't be offended if no one answers you here, as this site is predominately fixed wing.

Your school should have provided you with a list of the texts used, but the short list is fairly common regardless of the school.

From Transport Canada:

Helicopter Flight Training Manual:
http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/p ... nu-976.htm
and the Aviation Information Manual:
http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/p ... u-3092.htm

Odds are they also probably refer to
http://www.amazon.ca/Principles-Helicop ... 1560272171

and/or:
http://www.amazon.ca/Cyclic-Collective- ... 0557090660

Since it's always best to learn from other people's mistakes you could also try:
http://www.amazon.com/Fatal-Traps-Helic ... pd_sim_b_5

There's probably other items I haven't listed, your school should be more then happy to get you started so your well read before you show up. Good luck
