Hi Guys and gals, I know there is a video section but I thought this one deserved the general thread where there is more traffic.

Enjoy!

Meh. I see nothing that makes it any better than the others over in the forum where it belongs.

Hi FlyGy, Thanks for the response (not being sarcastic) :) . I respect different opinions.

Wasn't trying to knock the the videos on the video forum. Just really liked this video.

Seeing the low flying footage reminds me of Thursdays in France. We have a weekend house in the countryside in Burgundy. Every weekend I would watch VFR traffic flying about 3500'above ground, always wondering why no one would get lower to enjoy the airspace. I eventually learned that there's a block of airspace that cuts across France, from ground up. There's a website to check when any particular block will be in use. The neighbors casually told me Thursday were our day. Sure enough, Thursdays are when you will see Mirage's screaming low level hugging the terrain. More than once, we've had pairs of Mirages come screaming up the valley and go over the house lower than 500 feet. The nice thing about such traffic, aside from the excitement, is that, yes, it may be loud, but it's all over real fast. The jets come from French AF base in Dijon.

Great video, I had to descend early two days ago going into YOW for them. They were over taking us and ended up passing overhead along with their KC130 re-fueler, giving us a fantastic view. When I asked center if that was the Blue Angels the controller did not reply but the team gave me a stream of show smoke, thanks guys. It was great watching you fly over head.

We can all be grown ups, but when we see moments like that, we're little kids again enthralled by airplanes.

While we're on the topic of being propellerheads, this webcam is at a local field here in Switzerland. This place is a virtual airshow every weekend with glider traffic, a parachute club (with the vertical descending PC-6), warbirds, transients, etc. The picnic tables in the lower right give you an idea of how close to the runway you are. The glider traffic uses the far side of the wide turn field. Keep in mind that we are 6 hours ahead of YUL/YYZ time zone.

Could something like this HD Pro camera be used as a tool for flight instructors on enticing new students to come on board and fly with them. The student would get their lesson on video for them to watch it later.

Just curious as I am embarking on a flight instructor rating and was wondering if this 'tool' would work.

thanks

No, no it doesn't. It deserves to be posted in the Video section, with the rest of the videos. Making extra work for mods isn't very nice. Please respect the forum rules, which includes posting in the correct forums.
