Too bad they don't have a camera off the bow to see how close the plane came to the water. I suspect that the fact the bow was pitching up at the time helped as I'm sure they needed every inch they could get. Awesome flying, those guys are going to have some great stories to tell.

Ouch. That is scary, I wouldn't stay anywhere near those cable if I would knew this could happen:
Eight sailors suffered a variety of injuries, including a fractured ankle, wrist, pelvis and legs. One sailor received skull and facial fractures while another suffered a possible traumatic brain injury.

That aircraft looks to have slowed down A LOT before it goes off the end of the deck. Great recovery. I don't imagine these guys have ejection seats.
