C-FORD is currently hangared at CZBB. Comes with custom covers and engine blanket, full set of plans, AFM, maintenance manual, a copy of the “BD-4 Book” and the DI plans.
Engine is a Lycoming O-320-E2D 160 HP which was disassembled, inspected, and rebuilt by Aerosport power in 2012. Cam replaced, 4 new cylinders with high compression pistons, and carb overhauled. The starter is a lightweight skytec installed new in 2014. Propeller is a wood prop from Props Inc pitched for cruise flight new in 2016.
Wings are the original fiberglass section wings from Bede. The wings received extensive repairs and repainting 4 years ago. Tail is the original small tail and rudder. Aircraft is very demanding to fly and while it will fly hands off in smooth air, the lack of directional stability means that keeping the ball in the center with your feet is NOT optional. Very easy taildragger on the ground, tracks straight with good control but in the air the rudder must be used to keep the plane straight.
Currently the rear cabin is the plywood DI for cargo. There is a set of hammock seats available locally which with some seat belts could be added without too much trouble if a conversion to 4 seats is required.
