Sim Eval

#1 Post by Apollo » Tue Dec 02, 2014 6:07 pm

Hello!

So, any advice on the Sim Eval? I've searched the forum, but all of the posts seem to be pretty old - was just wondering if there was any updated information?

Its a basic full ifr ride.
have fun, be open to advice and tips given by the right seat guy.
Smile and shake the guys habd at the end and thank them for the experience.
They are looking for the basic flying skills that you should already have and that they would be able to tolerate you in closed quaters for 4 days at a time.

Basically a full IFR ride as in an ILS and GPS approach or do they usually make you do NDBs as well? Just curious as to what kind of approaches they typically like to see?

Normal takeoff out of YYZ, fly maybe 10 mm north. Steep turn. Come back hold at VOR, hold. Vectored NDB to land. Regular takeoff, in the downwind engine fire...shutdown single engine ILS your done.

All raw data no GPS. You have 15 min to review plates ahead of time and a small DH8 and mini SOP cheat sheet.

PM me if you need any further
