Was wondering when the next bids for jazz come out?
As well when are contracts being renewed in 09?

Without the benefit of a crystal ball, I can't be certain, but I expect it will be immediately following 2 weeks of mutual name-calling and empty rhetoric, a brief strike, and back-to-work legislation.

As for the other one, the bids are supposed to come out in Jan and July, but those dates are subject to change if there is something in the works, like the last bid.

Cheers

I believe every group associated with Air Canada has a contract which expires June 30th at midnight.

OK, the bid is out.
I'm way to tired to go through it all.
YUL 12 Dash spots.
It looks like that will be the trend.
ie. not too many direct entry on the RJ. What, did you think this was the US

There's still several YYZ and YYC RJ vacancies. 9 YYC RJ and I think 6 YYZ RJ. As far dash openings, there was 1 YHZ, 3 YYZ, 18 YYC, and 8 YVR.

The new bid is comming out soon, and it is a reduction bid.

Bad news for the folks who were hired in the spring.

Bid is out, no layoffs, just people moving a/c or base, so I dont think that's entirely bad news.

I'm sorry I'm not the sharpest guy out there but if there are no Lay-offs and sense everyone is paid for years in how is it a reduction bid. People are getting moved around and from RJ to Dash but there is no reducing? Actually there are more Captain vacancies the people switching off the Jet so that means new up grades? I am still not seeing the reduction? There are 13 skippers less on the RJ and 15 Dash captain openings?

Some people think they are getting an downgrade when going from RJ to the Dash.

We are losing 10 CRJ's from the CPA.

No one who is a FO now is going to become a Captain from this bid.
There are no upgrades.

Some Captains will be able to change base and keep their seat.
Others will have to accept Dash left seats.
And a few unlucky ones will have to change base, as well as accept Dash left seats.

But in the end, we are losing aircraft, and losing total flying hours.

When your pay cheque is smaller in December I think you will understand
why the word REDUCTION is very accurate.

Looking at status without type, I think you will see that system wide there are 18 captain reductions and only 15 captain vacancies.
