Those in the pool I believe get called first. As for hiring, the August equipment bid should have all the answers give or take. I believe it's August 15th it's released or SHOULD be released is a better word.

According to the email I received after going through the interview and getting to the sim:

"Please note that although you are in the candidate pool, you may be required to complete certain steps of the hiring process again (i.e. Interview, drug screen, references, etc.) and it does not guarantee you a position with Jazz."

I would assume that your friend would be in the same position.

I would be inclined to say that any new hire ground schools would not happen until well into September or October. I don't see any major growth and any hiring is likely to address attrition.

Have any of the folks who are in the pool have the references already checked? I was told they wont check your references until they know they have you slotted for a spot in groundschool....

It has been sometime since we have had contact with you and we wanted to give you a quick update on the status of hiring at Jazz.
 
At this time we are not anticipating anymore hiring for this year. When hiring starts again we will be in touch with you regarding the completion of the steps in our process.

Hate to burst your bubble. But they probably won't hire again until January 2012. When that time rolls around, those in the hiring pool will have to start the process all over again! Happened before to the last set of guys that were interviewed in June of 2010 due to the 6 month rule. Good Luck, you'll like it here, for the lucky few that make it.

No sinking feeling though. In the pool is good. Communications from prospective employer is good. Chin up man. All reports about working there, apart from the minority, are good. Worth the wait.

Don't give up hope folks. There will probably be quite a bit of attrition too. Transat, WJ, AC, Qatar, etc will probably be hiring pilots from Jazz over the next few months.

Yeah ditto on the email.... thats why I am very curious on how many people they have slotted in the pool for now.... would give us all a good indication on what the odds are of actually being hired next round since the position bids will reflect openings... Hoping its not like 200 people in the pool that have interview sim and medical all done.

Also, so we have a better idea where we all sit, please post at what stage you are at if in the pool...

Not sure if people partially thru the process ( eg maybe only interview complete) have been put in the pool.

My understanding from HR was that they will grab people with the most stages complete slot them for a spot and finish up their reference/ background check...

The bid shows 27 vacancies but that does not include any attrition due to retirements, leaves or people moving to other companies. As for hiring dates it is stated in the bid that most if not all new hires will have effective dates in 2012 in preparation for the summer 2012 flying schedule.
