Do you realise this exam is still given and there are students who might find the info helpful?

Hi Guys, First time on here and I thought I'd keep this thread going. :D I too have been looking for guidelines for the radio test as have come up short on Internet support. I noticed a couple of guys here helped out with PM's with practice questions to help them study, I have read book up and down for two days now and anything else that could aid me would be great. i just took my P-star and scored very well so I 'd like to do well on this one too.. not just pass. I have looked over the above links so any extra help on top of that would be great.

Thanks

Not to hijack the post but, I just printed the study guide for radio operator ( RIC-21/ISSUE 3/FEB. 2010) and the PSTAR (TP 11919E/SIXTH EDITION/SEPT. 2006) off transport Canada website. What I noticed is the PSTAR didn't come with an answer key. I have a fourth edition July 2000 when I first wrote the PSTAR and that came with an answer key. I tried calling the inquiry number listed but got no answer. A list of AIM and CARs section is given and I have a feeling they want you to use those to find/verify your answer. Any help with finding the answer key will be much appreciated.

A lot of great links have been posted which will definately aid anyone writing these two tests. Thanks for posting.

The reason I gotta do both over again is due to the fact confed won't accept it.

*** upon further review and random sampling of questions from the old PSTAR sample test and the new PSTAR test guide, they are exactly the same. The answer guide corresponds exactly. If anyone needs it pm me and I'll scan it or fax it

There is a good reason why there is no answer key to the PSTAR, and only references. Please don't memorize the answers, the exam is pretty easy and basic as it is, study it properly and you'll find the references lead you right to the answer.

The Radio Exam is also one of the easiest exams on this planet. The Industry Canada exam guide provided by your FTU is overkill for the exam. Study it and you'll ace it.

Both the PSTAR and ROC-A were well studied hence, I passed both a few years ago. Having the answer key along with the reference page is a bonus.

The link that Grey Wolf provided on page 1 for the candidate's study guide has changed (the examiner's guide link still works).

The new link for the candidate's study guide is:

I would like updates on this as well. The sample questions, from a few posts up, are several years old. Judging from them, I doubt much has changed but if anything has please let us know.

When I was studying for my ROC-A, I found the study guide from Industry Canada to be quite sufficient. That and the relevant chapter from "From the Ground Up". I would suggest writing the ROC-A after you've gone up in a plane a couple of times so you can get familiar with the "lingo".
