DAC

Post by dude507 »

Anyone that sees an ad for pilots at DAC should stay away. They allegedly give CARS days off on the road, pay only 50.00 per diems no matter where you are, and have no company credit cards. Pilots pay their hotels on their personal cards and wait for reimbursement. And they get screamed at if they de-ice in bad weather conditions.

I would not believe anything when it comes to DAC...

One thing is for sure, the aircrafts were flown back to Cessna.

One story goes they were in talks with Bombardier to get some of their aircrafts and Cessna learned about it and demanded their aircrafts be flown back to them... I find that story weird because if they made proper payments on their leases why would a manufacturer request the aircrafts back.

The other story is, they owed Cessna a lot of money and the aircrafts were flown back to Cessna.

I also hear they might owe other companies some money.

The training bond there should make any pilot think twice about applying, It isn't a place I would personally want to work.

I just wasn't sure about the statement, "DAC is done. Textron repo'd their airplanes".

Yes the airplanes were taken back from Cessna because they were owed money. And I heard the same as the other guy, that they owe money at other places. I heard now that they bought a used Challenger 605 and its being painted now.
Good luck with that if they are not going to deice a Challenger like they were on the Cessnas. That will be interesting.

From what I heard, what dude507 is saying is all true. What is not being said is the the 680 was a lemon, over 200 snags in 2 years and Cessna did not want to admit it. I am not defending DAC, it is definitely a place I would avoid. For the deice, apparently the owner was not anti icing, but I would not put all crews in that same basket. I also heard the 605 is in paint, crews were laid off and none of them want to wait it out, they are trying to keep cj4 salary on the challenger...

"drivers driver... For the deice, apparently the owner was not anti icing, but I would not put all crews in that same basket."

Better yet... When it was a "private flight" (in other words not on Execaire's OC), the pilots had to send pictures of the wings to the owner prior to de-ice/anti-ice and he then would take the decision to allow or not the aircraft to be de-iced.

Yeah, while the Sovereign was a nice new bird it was a bit of a snag bag. At least it's decent to work on... also showed how dedicated Cessna customer support was.

They had a very senior Tech up babysitting it for a bit when I was there.

Looks like they got their 605. I heard it is like one guy put it for the Cessnas "a snag bag". Apparently one pilot already quit. Seems its same old same old. CARS days off on the road. The remaining 2 pilots never home.

I dont know what is your goal here, but you are missing information

I can't talk about the past, but things have changed since they have the Challenger (if what you say about previous operation is true)
