Wasaya job adds WOW
What is going on at wasaya. I see there is a posting for 40+ pilots. Can someone shed some light on what's going on there. Did a bunch of pilots quit all at once?
Re: Wasaya job adds WOW
Probably. It's not a very good company to work for. Also the airlines are draining all these 703/704 places dry.

Spirit, curious about your experiences at Wasaya.
What kind of issues did you run into?

I think they recently cut pilot salaries across the board. That combined with the current movement in the industry probably created the perfect storm of 'screw you I don't need this crap'. A business model that relies on young pilots desperate for hours is going to be hurting in times like this.

Ok, lots of people leaving, so perhaps it's a great place to get experience from?
What is the pay like? "According to ALPA scale" isn't exactly detailed..does anyone have numbers?

As discussed in other threads, ALPA didn't allow the pay cut for pilots.Jimmy2 wrote:I think they recently cut pilot salaries across the board.

Having worked there for 5+ years, it was a means to a goal (Multi-PIC). Granted this was almost 10 years ago (2007), the industry has since boomed for regional flying.North Shore wrote:Ok, lots of people leaving, so perhaps it's a great place to get experience from?

As for the pay scale, Contract 2 ended in June 2016; not sure what number 3 looks like. I'd be curious to know if things have changed for the better!

Without inside knowledge, it looks to me that Wasaya is between a rock and a hard place. Bleeding crew. Can't afford to raise pay. Perimeter and Northstar moving in. Christ! they got in trouble when they had a virtual monopoly and crew was less of an issue. 44 openings?! That's substantial.
Tell me I'm wrong.

I'm really curious what the Dash crews would be making. I'd be the least bit interested in working for them, but really curious about their pay scale.

from experience, Wasaya is in big trouble. No wonder the pilots are leaving. Management isn't the greatest either and their planes are not the newest. We recently received Dash Freighters but those are going to get banged on as well. Mass recruitment is happening because of the pilots leaving for pay and work environment.

Re: Wasaya job adds WOW
It's a fairly large gateway company that's experiencing high turnover. They need pilots but structurally are not able to significantly raise pay, although schedule is slowly improving. Salaries and working conditions could certainly be better but they are by no means bottom of the barrel. The union has performed as well as can be expected. I think these postings are attempting to address current staffing levels and to plan for attrition.
Re: Wasaya job adds WOW
Dash pay starts at 77k, caps at 113k at 15 years.
Re: Wasaya job adds WOW
How does that compare to Perimeter or CMA?flyinhigh wrote:Dash pay starts at 77k, caps at 113k at 15 years.
Re: Wasaya job adds WOW
If I remember correctly CMA starts at 68k, I don't know what the cap is.
