Is it time for a change?

If at least thirty (30%) of the national Active Membership demands a vote on a specific question, then the MEC Chair shall direct that the Voting Certification Committee (VCC) carry out such a vote.

Section 2 Dissolution

a) The Association may be dissolved by membership ratification by an Absolute majority vote of all active members.

1) The VCC shall conduct a dissolution vote upon receipt of a valid petition signed by 30% of the active membership demanding a dissolution vote. Such vote shall take place within 15 days from the receipt of the above-mentioned petition.

b) The Association may be dissolved as part of a merger agreement between the Association and another union that will assume the bargaining rights of the Air Canada Pilots at Air Canada in accordance with the provisions of the Canada Labour Code.

1) Any merger agreement that is reached between the Association and another union shall be subject to membership ratification.
