Just an example of one company starting to struggle is Wasaya. They had a job posting looking for 44 pilots! That closed on the 7th of June. Those positions ranged from Caravan, to Dash 8.

Sometimes it's better to be understaffed than it is to hire the wrong person.Kosiw wrote:If Jazz can still afford to dole out PFO's, then they can't be hurting too badly for qualified candidates.

I heard PasCo upped left seat pay on the 1900 and now you're able to make over 100k/yr.
Agreed. Especially with the fast upgrades, they have to hire people that can be a Captain in a year.goingnowherefast wrote:Sometimes it's better to be understaffed than it is to hire the wrong person.Kosiw wrote:If Jazz can still afford to dole out PFO's, then they can't be hurting too badly for qualified candidates.

They don't have enough applications of qualified people...
They should ask themselves, would I live in YYZ at 34K a year? Doing solely reserve with 2 or 3 days OFF in a row maximum for the first year?
Canada will end up like Asia, they're gonna hire 250 hours folks for right seat and offer stratospheric salaries for experienced and skilled people.

Seems empty spots in ground schools are becoming quite common. How long until until planes are routinely getting parked?

Re: New hire bids
I don't think that's too far away. I get called almost every day I'm off for overtime, and turn most of it down. The CRJ new hire class from last month are also now on a one month break before entering the SIM because there are no time slots available. The CRJ is very understaffed through the whole system, especially out west.goingnowherefast wrote:Seems empty spots in ground schools are becoming quite common. Re: New hire bids
In case anyone is curious, in the last 6 months they have hired about 250 pilots. This according to the recently released master list.

Re: New hire bids
No idea on GS, but the last list showed vacancies at all bases on all types. But management seems to drop everyone in YUL and let them transfer over to whatever their preferred base is after a few months.Orvlrite wrote:anyone know if the sept groundschools are filled up already and what bids are likely available?
