I think that's what the sign outside Pikagikum says. I can't read it there either.

As for hauling ATVs, how about an AN-2 on floats? Or a Wilson Explorer, that would be sweet.

Take a few at a time, plus a F.A!!

"Toulouse, June 21, 2017 – ATR is finalising the evaluation for the launch of a version of the ATR 42-600 with enhanced Short Take-Off and Landing (STOL) capabilities. The regional turboprop aircraft manufacturer is ready to offer this new version, the ATR 42-600S, to its current and potential customers.

The ATR 42-600S will substantially reduce the minimum length of runway required to take-off and land with full passenger capacity, down to only 800 meters. By improving these capabilities of the ATR 42-600s, hundreds of airports with runway lengths between 800 and 900 meters will be able to welcome the aircraft...."

I've seen ATVs in a Caravan. Maybe not the really big ones, but you could contact some C208 operators and find out.

-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

You can fit an ATV in a piston Beaver with the Alaska door. Depending on their size, you may be able to fit both in a Turbo Beaver.

"Finalising the evaluation for the launch". Lol That's quite an ambiguous statement. I'd pay money to see the average ATR pilot try and and take a loaded ATR into an 800m runway.

You can land anything anywhere once! I'd pay money to watch an ATR try to pull a load out of 800m...

Really? ATRs into 900 metres happens just about every day. You really think an updated version of the aircraft with better performance numbers can't knock 100 metres off that? If not, I'll happily take that bet.

If it hasn't already been mentioned, not homebuilt but Single otter will do it and there are some amphib ones around. Once this person goes and gets a pilots lic. he will better understand the costs involved to own and operate an aircraft to do this specific job and if that doesn't scare him.... I want to be his new best buddy.

Pangnirtung, 2900' gravel. 883 meters. Took off with a full load in an ATR quite often. First Air does it all the time. People might want to do a little research before spouting off what is not doable.

Too bad you can't register that one as O-M.....Throw it on floats, would be a blast till you ran out of gas money!

There are 2 on the Canadian registry I believe.

I've had the 650 can am in a grand caravan. Not many quads that wouldn't fit if that did.
