WJ's first -600 has arrived

Post by Trevor »

601 arrived in YYC last night and is now sitting in Bay 1. There's a BBQ planned for the unveiling party on Thursday in case anyone missed the announcement.

Highjack attempt #1.

Blastor, if you're so interested in bashing WJ, so be it. But stop hijacking every thread that opens up in this board with your incessant annoyance.

I'd suggest again that if you ignore him than the fun goes out of it for him. In a determined attempt to avoid any meaningful and quasi-intelligent banter, he has yet to explain why he loathes WJ so much now, when he loved them so much last year.

Now, I'm pretty ignorant about these new models of the 73'... what's the difference between the -700 and the -600? :?:

Slightly smaller AC.
Less seats in the 600.

That's exactly correct. They use the CFM56-7Bxx with basic thrusts of:
737-600 (19,500 lbs)
737-700 (20,600 lbs)
737-800 (24,200 lbs)
737-900 (24,200 lbs)

Someone asked about the lengths. They are:
737-600 (102 ft 6 in)
737-700 (110 ft 4 in)
737-800 (129 ft 6 in)
737-900 (138 ft 2 in)

Are there any plans for WJ to get the -900? And if so, what routes would they be used on?

As of now, there's no plan on using the -900. Its possible that if our ETOPS work is profitable enough, we might consider the -900EX.

flew on it the other night YVR-YYC. new airplane smell is a rare and wonderful thing! but, it's just a 737...from a pax point of view, no different from any other NG other than that it is smaller. The biggest thing I noticed.....being a brand new airplane: clear passenger windows!

and no, winglets have not been installed.

Check Airliners.net for the photos of Westjet's new 737-600's at Boeing field, and in Toronto.
