It's a pretty exciting development for AT. Although the 321 Neo isn't quite as efficient as the 737, my understanding is that the pilots will be able to be dual typed on the 330 and 321 and could literally fly both in the same pairing. This would allow tremendous increases in efficiency and flexibility from a scheduling and crewing standpoint.

The 321LR Neo will have the range and payload to do flights such as Toronto - London non stop, with about 200 passengers...

No. But then again, range varies a lot with payload, so two identical aircraft will not have the same range if they are configured differently. Airbus claims the A321 NEO LR will have a 4000NM range. But with how how much payload ? 164 seats or 207 ?

We used to do Nice-Montreal (3300 NM) in the B757, but that was with 228 passengers and it sometimes (rarely) required a fuel stop west bound even though we took off with full fuel.

The 310 with standard tanks and 157 tonne MTOW already had much better range than the 757 with all seats full (245 for the 310 and 228 for the 757 as TS flew them). With 245 passengers, the 310 can easily do 8 hour flights. The seats and the fuel tanks can be filled to capacity.

The 321 Neo LR will have less range than the 310.
Also there are versions of the 310 with increased gross weight to 164 tonnes, which can be combined with another mod of two Additional center tanks of about 5 tonnes each which can allow the 310 to easily do 10 hour flights.

Transat operates some of those, although with just one additional center tank, which they use for flights such as Rome-Montreal (3555 NM)
