Elliot Bros tail ski/ski

Hello to all, I have a nice item made by Elliot Bros from Sioux Look from in Ontario, as shown on the photos below. I have 2 questions:
1 - Does anyone have any info on that outfit that I assume was active in the '30's and later - there is a date on the shipping label that may show 1912...?
2 - This item is a tail ski/skid - I'm pretty sure - but what airplane was it mounted on?

I didn't find any info elsewhere on this outfit (?) Thanks to all.

Sure have. They were called Elliott Boards. I flew them on a Beaver out of Nakina. Fantastic ski. Nice and wide. Would float on slush. I would ride them up on planks for the night so they wouldn't freeze in. Occasionally when I stopped at the destination a simple kick was all it took to free them up. Unlike metal skis!

I think the date on that ski is December 1949.

Elliot Brothers started building skis for aircraft about 1927.

Looking at the history of the mnr and aircraft operated that could likely be a beaver tail ski. They started operating them in 1949. The Norseman and the Stinson were still flying in the time period as well but if the date is correct on your plate it was likely destined for a new beaver. ----- and yes one of the best skis every developed. The secret was the flex.
