What is the WAWCON?

Post by flythatwing »

Hiring is like we have never seen before so trying to make the best decision has to involve some research...

What is the deal for a first year FO? Salary, roster, upgrade time and requirements.

Thanks

WAWCON!?

Also, realistically, what is Transat's future likely to bring?

Many people who work at Rouge have informed me that a certain management person at AC has no qualms to admitting during meetings with pilots that Rouge's Raison d'être is putting Transat out of business.

People should not hold their breath waiting for that to happen.

Although true that we are seeing more and more Rouge aircraft parked next to us in places where Air Canada had never gone, it's just good competition. All captains with thousands of hours of wide body experience are constantly solicited by foreign carriers with offers of several times our present net pay, but virtually no one is leaving. That speaks for itself.

So what's the story? Why so much secrecy around starting pay and other conditions there? All I could find is old post and some outdated info on airline central.

Upgrade when your number comes up 3-4 years at the moment. YUL takes a lot longer.

Thank you Gilles, I actually searched that site over and over again but couldn't find the new contract. Only the previous one.

It's there all right, the 2015 one. So are the contracts of all the other Canadian airlines that have Unions......

When you upgrade to Captain do you go to Year 1 Captain pay or do years of service carry over?

Hey guys so when exactly is Transat getting their A320Ceo online?

Is future dual qualification on A320/330 a must or can you bid only one type?

And finally...for a first year YYZ base fo what is the take home pay (considering it is 54,000/year gross). What can you make on per diems on top of that net pay?

Thanks guys!

The 320 ceos from Thomas Cook will start to come online in March. At least that’s the deal for now.
