Ok if my math is correct you're at 72.3% of getting an interview....

Actually, yer calculation puts it at 72.3147642 (the geometrical ''pie'' constant''), since the variables do not capture the arc sinus uncertainty of human intervention.
But it is pretty darn close.

That's actually the mathematical calculation they use to hire someone

Just out of curiosity why weren't you interested in flying for AC when you had 4000 Hours? Not to discount anyones experience but we all tend to view our own credentials as the most desirable and somewhat filter out bits of information. Are we talking 8000 Hours of Beaver time or BBJ Command? Its worth keeping in that having 8000 hours doesn't necessarily make you more likely to get the job than someone with 4000 hours.
There are lots of people on this forum curious about who is getting interviews and what experience they have, please share when you get the call.
Reading the new hire biographies is really starting to make me feel pretty ancient. While about half are in their thirties, more and more Bio's include phrases such as, "After finishing my degree/diploma at .... in 2011/12, I started flying for..." Most come from 705 operations, lots started instructing before moving on to turbo props, to be honest most New Hires today have the same backgrounds as everyone else on the seniority list, it just seems that they're moving through the industry quicker. From graduation to AC seems possible in 5 years now whereas 10-15 years used to be the norm.
All the best to those moving forward in their endeavours.

Great questions! 4000 hours ago I was unable to afford the pay cut, my job at the time was more family friendly, and the long wait for an upgrade on any type at Air Canada was concerning to me.TheStig wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2017 6:44 amJust out of curiosity why weren't you interested in flying for AC when you had 4000 Hours? I'm not saying my time (mostly King Air) is any more valuable than others; clearly Air Canada prefers 705 time, and understandably so. I am hoping that the fact that I literally have everything else that they desire will lead to an interview though.

Thanks alti for keeping score. Personally, I seem to hear about how few Jazz folks are on course, but it would appear that is not true. As someone who is still waiting for an in person interview, it is good to hear they are still pulling from Jazz.

Thanks for sharing, after seeing that I have recalculated my personal chance at about 3%

I've heard all types will get the new paint except the Dash 8-100s. In terms of the rate act which it'll happen, I'm guessing whenever they are going in for heavy checks.
