I seem to recall there being a choice, but if you say you are fluent in French, you had to answer at least 1 french question.

It's been a while since I completed the interview, so my recollection of events may be foggy.

Looks like courses planned for the next little while:

04 Dec: 32 new hires

08 Jan: 40

29 Jan: 40

19 Feb: 40

12 Mar: 30

02 Apr: 30

23 Apr: 30

14 May: 30

I assume more after this but no firm plans. Looks like a solid plan for 272 new hires before summer

I am wondering, the people who are being called for the January course, when did you/they apply? When did you interview?

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

The last time the website was open for OTS hiring, within about a month, people received the "good email" or the "bad email".
Are they using the same system? Doesn't seem to be the case this time. Do you guys have any information regarding this?

Cheers

Applied fall of 2011, interviewed May 2012, PFO'd July 2012, reapplied March 2016, interviewed March 2017, medical in July 2017 - they wanted to follow up in November. Got the call for the January 8th course on December 12th, 2017.

My understanding is that they haven't really reviewed the latest bunch of applicants yet. From the sounds of things they're just finishing up with the ones who applied a year and a half ago and will get to the new pile once the old is effectively exhausted. Seems to me a lot of folks are in suspense over no response and based on lessons learned last year the process will be adjusted this time around. Your guess is as good as mine as to how they move forward but don't forget that lat time out even people who got the 'bad email' ended up being hired.

These are just the impressions I get from multiple very well qualified people.

Any idea on how long after the video interview candidates are getting called? Is the next step an in-person interview in Toronto? I only just recently did the video portion.

Nothing whatsoever...University Aviation Diploma, ATPL and 3300TT with 2000MPIC 704/703 time and training Captain. I'm surprised to see another AC pilot posting on pilot career center just put up today...still waiting patiently for my iPhone to ring!

Just be careful cause the phone won't ring, all communication (in normal cases) goes to your email. They don't call you or speak to you unless they want to clarify something that is not clear, otherwise it is all via email. Also, make sure you check your Junk Email as some of the correspondence may get filtered out and sent to your Junk/Spam folders, I know a couple of people this happened to and in one case one missed his deadline for a reply. Good Luck!

FOD,

FYI -
Looking at the recent classes:
Only a small handful out of the last couple hundred new hires are coming from a commuter type carrier... Most are coming from jets - RJs/737s/330s, I saw one guy off a '47, a bunch are from 705 turboprops too -8s/ATRs/Saabs, and of course some ex-military guys.

So if your 3000 hours of 703/704 doesn't get you a call, don't get discouraged - keep building and diversifying your experience. I was there, I know how it goes... Tough waiting by the phone when you see all the hiring...
Good luck.
