GFT/EVAS Air Sponsoring Foreign Pilots from India and Mexico
What's going on here? Can't afford to pay fair wages to Canadian pilots? Rather import them from Mexico and India???
EVAS is a tier 3 carrier for Air Canada, operating as Air Canada Express, by the way!!!

Re: Canadian airline/FTO sponsoring foreign pilots
this.. is.. sad..
spent 36 years and now retired due to circumstance, (just ok money, no real big money) and now this....all under the air canada banner. very sad.....
so now we are in a situation where some make enviable money, and, others that make close to minimum salary. Looks like Canada is home to the ultra rich and the ultra poor.

Was thinking about that. Hope the OP does not get into legal trouble with EVAS if that is the case.....It's gonna hurt big time in a defamation suit.

I only wish that I was trolling. That I created these poorly generated advertisements out of jest. But, unfortunately, this is as real as ever. Sad ...

I had a quick look at the FB page initially and didn't spot them. I stand corrected. I guess it all depends on whether Zoolander allows it.

"No experience required" Are you sure these ads are legit and not made up by someone with an ax to grind?
Let’s Go Brandon
Re: GFT/EVAS Air Sponsoring Foreign Pilots from India and Mexico
Seriously guys is this real or not?
Re: GFT/EVAS Air Sponsoring Foreign Pilots from India and Mexico
Yes they are real. The no experience necessary part is probably actually more of what they're looking for. Pay $50k to GFT to get your licenses, work as a rampie for a while, then sign a training bond to work at EVAS. There have already been several foreigners who came to Canada to go to GFT and stayed, eventually getting on with EVAS, all before this "program" was put in place. I saw it as more about trying to fill the flight school with foreign students.

We are past the point of no return, what a sad situation.
Re: GFT/EVAS Air Sponsoring Foreign Pilots from India and Mexico
I find it interesting.
In other nations of the world, if there is a pilot shortage the airlines bring in foreign pilots and pay them a premium so they can keep the air planes flying.
In Canada, when faced with a pilot shortage the airlines bring in foreign pilots to avoid having to pay premium wages to the existing pool of pilots to keep the air planes flying.
I am in no way against ExPat workers, as Canada supplies many of them around the world to other countries, but I find it interesting how they are used very differently in our nation compared to other nations. Other nations bring in high priced, high experienced talent and we bring in low priced, low talent people. The government of Canada is complicit in keeping wages and working conditions sub par in this nation.

I think ant_321 has it. It's more about filling the school than filling 1900s.

Looks like they tried to hire locals as well with another add. But I'm guessing there wasn't enough interest.

If this is the case, then why does the Mexico ad ask for CPL already completed?mantogasrsrwy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2017 11:10 am I think ant_321 has it. It's more about filling the school than filling 1900s.
