Occurrence Summary:
C-GGFP, a Dash 8-402 aircraft operated by Jazz Aviation LP was conducting flight JZA8899 from
Goose Bay, NL (CYYR) to Halifax/Stanfield Intl., NS (CYHZ). During de-icing at CYYR, the de-ice
truck ran out of fluid. JZA8899 selected bleed air from the auxiliary power unit (APU) for heat, while
waiting for the truck to return. The APU ingested de-ice fluid, and the cabin filled with a blue haze.
The cabin crew advised the flight crew that they believed it may be a fire, and the captain ordered
a rapid deplanement. All passengers and crew excited the aircraft without injury, and were
escorted across the ramp to the terminal. ARFF responded to the aircraft.
The operator’s maintenance, completed a one hour ground run to ensure no residual deice fluid
was in the aircraft environment system, and the aircraft was returned to service.

What is the difference between rapid deplanement and evacuation? Or is it the same thing?

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Out the 1L door (air stairs) with pep-in-your-step, and should be without your carry-on bags. One convenience of a smaller aircraft without escape slides!

LOL.

I believe if they could get away with it, they'd configure the 777 etc as a one aisle aircraft.

This reason is why they can't.

Any MSDS sheet out there on the toxicity of deice fluid fumes in the cabin atmosphere?
