Any body else just suck?
I was just wondering if anyone else out there just sucks like I do?
I have a degree, numerous internal references (including family), am under 30, have almost 6000 hours of which almost all is PIC with about a 1000 of that jet PIC and have been aspiring to work at AC my whole life.
Then after a 25 minute interview and a half-assed computer test I get a thanks but no thanks 3 line PFO letter.
Oh well I guess it’s off to Hong Kong for my sorry butt, did I mention I had already passed the selection process at Cathay?
Imagine passing their process but not AC’s (does AC even have a process?) maybe I was too educated / experienced / young, I guess I’ll never know!
Good luck to the rest of the interviewees.

He also mentioned his family is there....Jaques Strappe wrote: I am getting the impression however that guys seem to think they should be hired strictly based on what is in their logbook and CV. If that were the case, then there would be no need for an interview then would there?
I'm also sorry to hear that it didn't work out, New Guy. You've got one hell of a good plan B, though! I think Cathay and AC are the only two airlines I'd be interested in working for these days (well that I can legally work for anyway, with my measly Canadian citizenship).
Best of luck, and have fun overseas!

One wonders if he let it slip in the interview that he had Cathay in his back pocket..
The motivation of the candidate to work FOR Air Canada is extremely important. From observing this company for many years, IMO, Air Canada places a very high priority on.. ATTITUDE....There are thousands of pilots applying with the required qualifications......what will make you stand out from the crowd ?.....They will give preference to the candidates that promise to live & breath AIR CANADA.
If they knew the applicant had been "shopping around".....thats probably the "why" of the rejection letter.
