Westjetters love to tell you about their T4. And while I agree, money is money, I am interested in the actual salary.

You seem very vested in the Swoop discussions... moving on from SW?
Already have about a year and a half ago.

The CIRB ruling would, in no way whatsoever, prevent you from working at Swoop. What it does is prevent you from taking a 2 year LOA, hold your position at WJ, go to work for Swoop and come back without losing any seniority or vacation. You always have the option of quitting your job and going to work for Swoop. But in doing so, you now lose your spot in line and if you come back, it's at the bottom of the list.... exactly like you quit to work for any other company.

It's not like the company is offering 2 year LOA's for me to go work in China or the Middle East and come back penalty free. So, if you have no idea what you are talking about or you have no bone in this dogfight, perhaps you should do a little self education before making inflammatory posts like they are fact. Try asking questions instead of making factually inaccurate statements.
I meant the LOA opportunity isn't available anymore after the CIRB ruling, thought that was clear and also factually accurate. I doubt anyone is going to quit mainline to go to Swoop, but some people may have been interested in the LOA.

Of course we do! We are T4 rich and cash poor, the T4 makes us look better. Especially on forums, so be quiet before everyone finds out.

I don’t understand your statement. Do you want to know the actual salary or not? Posting my T4’s isn’t about boasting but rather getting facts straight.

I said after 2 years, which places you on the 3rd step.

At year 3 pay, my T4 was 124 000 with some OT. With OT, I still average below 16 days a month.

T4 income is not the greatest comparison with other airlines, however it's perfect when comparing to Swoop.

You asked the question, then mocked those who responded. I think I know why.

All you have to do is patiently wait two years, then the difference is not much. It is definitely not worth the risk of missing out on a 787 seat.

Earning 97k on a left seat of a 737!? I don’t get it, people are ok taking on that kind of responsibility with that pay?! 3-4 years in a well established airline in Canada and you’ll be making that in the right seat!

So, you left Canada presumably for MORE money yet you come on here and advocate for the wages offered at swoop, I just don’t get it. That’s good to know though, I can now dismiss your opinion on this matter and skip right through your posts.
Thanks for supporting wage increases in Canada by leaving, it’s greatly appreciated:)

As for Boney or whoever this person's current alias is,

Rouge does not involve a LOA. Pilots bid it for various reasons. One list, period. And that was forced on us FYI

Lol - not quite. Nice try Poirot :smt098 Just because individuals share similar observations doesn't mean they are automatically the same person.

I just like stirring up conversation when you guys get all self absorbed in your rah rah rah :butthead:

Given the wing suit flying, member measuring individuals penchant for all things German and 2k3 being his date of hire the coincidences are just too much.

Re: CIRB Decision

But back to the CIRB.

Can I approach Swoop for let’s say 5 months of work to help get them going and then ask WJ for an LOA for under the “business as usual” 6 month duration?

I couldn’t have done the two year LOA due to my support payments but I figure I could swing 5 months or so with some planning.

In spite of only flying 730 hours in 2017 I still managed to make $384,771 which is somewhere north of $500/hr hard time. It’s not China money but it’s not that bad. With my Spousal Support payments deduction and RRSP deduction I’ll be getting back $40,000 in income taxes which should finance 5 months at Swoop if they’ll have me and WJ gives me an LOA.

Does anyone know if that would violate the freeze?

Add to the list: schnitzel2k3 & WeedPro2000

So it appears these are all same flying suit whacko:

1) Boney
2) NewCommercialPilot
3) squawk
4) rotten apple #1
5) schnitzel2k3
6) WeedPro2000

This website, although it has valuable information and is a good place for sharing info, is brutal for policing any kind of annoyances such as this. Could be much better
