Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Naw, I say what I mean, I truly do get the feeling that big red feels like a lottery, many much much better people than myself have lost out. Many have gone on to successful careers elsewhere. I take it as a matter of fact sort of thing, that tends to happen in this world.
Now that the gloves are out, one of the hires in the past was that jetsgo guy who managed to land on the runway edge lights, and did a go around. You asked for it. Would prefer to not air the dirty laundry but hey.......
And no, no raic, it appears that sending a coarsely worded message in response to hangman noose and blood dripping dagger next to women's necks graffiti found in former mainline cockpits constitutes a danger to public safety and a sure sign of an unbalanced person. After all, sending a nasty email is a capital offence, right? Of course, actually creating said graffiti is normal behavior. Do you really want me to pull up that media article, quite easy to do.
But I am not here to discuss that, I am serving the life sentence, which should make you happy.
And for the rest of the readers, I am only pointing out the reality. Good people get in, good people don't get in. Bad people get in, bad people don't get in. It's a tossup.

And also for the rest of the readers I am just going to be point out that you are literally a lunatic that hates all things Air Canada. Who said that the next time an Air Canada pilot "sh_ts on you" ypu would murder them.

Therefore your near constant criticism of anything Air Canada should be taken with a large grain of salt.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
In October 2013, Mr. Varadi submitted a message using the Air Canada Pilots Association Web Form, which read as follows: “The next time I see an Air Canada moron who shits on me; I will most probably explode and will most probably do something that will give me a life in prison sentence. I am a human. I have a lot to deal with; I am not Air Canada royal family. You shit a lot on humanity, and because you are superior. You shit on me, I slit your throat. Goodbye. Julius Varadi”. At a meeting with Air Canada Internal Security following this incident, Mr. Varadi was made aware of the potential consequences of such actions but no further action was taken by Air Canada.
Well that seems like a reasonable and measured response...Mr. Varadi further pleads that, while the Minister suggests his emails were sent without reason, the email addressed to the Air Canada Pilots Association in 2013 was in reaction to a pornographic graffiti drawn in the cockpit of an airplane.
https://www.canlii.org/en/ca/fct/doc/20 ... fc155.html
This clearly goes beyond a free speech issue.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Yeah I'm not sure threatening to kill Air Canada pilots is covered under free speech in the Air Canada forum.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
he he he...sure doesn't take whole lot to rattle the holier than thou. It's actually fun, busting the fragile egos at the company you work for. Just look at all of the effort you put in to tracking down my foul character.Sharklasers wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 10:27 pm And also for the rest of the readers I am just going to be point out that you are literally a lunatic that hates all things Air Canada. But again, hangman nooses and blood dripping daggers next to women's neck graffiti appears to be an OK form of expression amongst air canada personnel. Man your sharpies boys, and scribble away in the cockpit. The picture of moral perfection.
http://www.cbc.ca/newsblogs/yourcommuni ... ights.html
And that is just only one of many out there on the net. The high and the mighty, yeah, right.............Once again, no fan of airing dirty laundry, but hey, you are just asking for it. Got this problem see, I have adverse reactions to assholes.
As far as near constant criticism is concerned, don't you have anything better to do than track a crazy person like me??? Sorry for the reality check, but, many in the industry find the big red way of doing things somewhat odd indeed. If you have a problem with that, well, you are part of the fragile ego group who cannot even stand a 2 knot wind. You call that criticism? What? Otherwise you would not even bother. Crazy indeed, pointing out that the system, although functional, is far, far, far, in the state of perfection that it claims to be. Saying that big red is a mixed bag of good and not so good and a bit of a lottery is criticism? You have bigger problems to deal with than I could ever have, you poor fool.
And yeah, I have trouble with hangman nooses, blood dripping daggers, police abuse, outright corruption, and toxic work environments. That makes me crazy, right? Looks like I am in good company, lots of crazy people out there. Oh shit, I forgot, we are in politically correct canada where mass murderers are housed and fed at 50K a year, but using foul language is an unforgivable crime.
Soooo.......if you do not mind, which you do, I shall say what I have to say on this forum. No outright unacceptable statements yet. Just a few snowflake egos busted..........
My excuse for being on this forum for a grand total of 3 minutes maximum per night, and not every night, is that I have lots of time on my hands. Never looked at the place when I was working. Way too busy.
You are working, and you appear to have no life, so you track evil spirits like me on the internet??? What is your excuse? are you the dudley doright rcmp loser who patrols avcanada because he is so good and great by birth? yer shit don't stink?

hey, you're alright confusey, like your style.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I have never ever seen anything like that at AC and it doesn't reflect the character of the people or organisation that I know.
Yeah, it happened and a couple guys were putting pinups in the flight deck and I think were issued suspensions.
Your aggression toward an entire organisation and it's 3600 pilots is painting with a pretty broad brush and your statements are pretty extreme.

I am just trying to show they people who may not have had the pleasure of meeting you or knowing your story that your constant derision of 3600 individuals isn't likely from a place of malice but from your obviously deeply rooted mental illness.
Two more points before we let this die if I may, do you own your problems at all or is it normal to threaten and menice people like this? Is it possible that your attitude and demeaner came across in your 2 mainline interviews or did you just lose the lottery? Are you just a victim of the Illuminati?
Point 2, what did the CEO of Pratt do to incur your wrath?
Last thing, you are reason that I set my alarm at night and that I have security cameras on my house. Unfortunately my guard dogs are big sucks

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
It seems the new Express hiring portal is really fast tracking Express pilots into Mainline now. I wonder if the glory days of OTS are now somewhat behind us. It will be interesting to see breakdown of Express vs OTS in the next few courses.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Just an observation or two for those trying to come over. Many changes in the hiring methods over the last 35 years.
Those being hired, as of late, seem to now be about 50% from the Regional carriers and the rest, off the street. Military, WJ, Transat, Encore, Sunwing, Corporate etc, etc.
Almost all being hired have post secondary education. The Aviation College and University types seem to be of equal value.
H. R. seems to have a lot of say in the program. That I personally think is the wrong way to go. Pilots hiring Pilots has always been the best method.
Minorities, immigrants, francophone and females get equal chance in being hired. A very diverse group of new hired pilots. Lots of new aircraft yet to come and lots of retirements to come!
On average 100+ retirements a year for a long time.
Best of luck to all. One of the best Careers in Canada.
Regards, Pigboat.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Good post BUT I would add that AC and Express put a lot of work into the now PMA and the new application process for Express including a fasttrack program. I would caution that no one will know the impact of the new portal and PMA for another 6 - 12 months but it is likely to change that 50/50 ratio substantially.pigboat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 11:42 am Just an observation or two for those trying to come over. Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
You may be correct on the ratio changing a lot in the near future! The one sure thing is that any given Monday morning the program can change overnight. We have seen many radical changes in how it works. The 90s and early 2000`s saw overnight and frequent changes. A new PMA may bring some form of stability to the process.

And to Dr. Evil, that would be sharklaser (quite funny actually, I googled sharlasr and that is what came up), naw, attitude that you so pounce upon was not a factor in my lack of success in the lottery, my indignations to the jerks out there came well after the interviews since I had no contact with the morons at that time. To answer your pratt question, these so very fine and upstanding people running the place used the 2008 economic panic to kick out 1500 employees, just like that, AND pilfered about 200 million in taxpayer money from two levels of government under the form of outright non repayable grants. Not loans, grants. The whole idea was to avoid layoffs, pratt had the governments over a barrel. AND, their parent company United Technologies, made 22 billion in profit, yes profit, not revenue, in 2008. UTC has always been known as a financial powerhouse. Scumbags indeed. If you care to investigate, google ''pratt and whitney deal not quite as advertised''
You should not pass judgement until you get all of the facts. And yeah, I get pissed at outrageous wrongdoing. Please don't tell me that threatening graffiti is an acceptable form of expression.
Sign of a crazy person indeed, right?

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
All legitimate concerns,
I would say the sign of the crazy person would be the following excerpts from your various emails.
A. In February 2007, Mr. Varadi sent an email through the Service Canada website, stating that “Je viens de tuer, une grosse crises [sic] de bitch, du gouvernement du Canada” ([TRANSLATION] “I have just killed a big fucking bitch from the government of Canada”) and that more would follow.
B. In October 2010, Mr. Varadi sent an email to the Sûreté du Québec through its website, in reaction to an arrest that had made the headlines at the time. The email stated: “Oh by the way, froggie, the raid on the idiot who sent internet messages makes you an even bigger idiot in case you don’t understand, we do not want to live in your Quebec society, so @#$! off and die. Sad to say, we importees are stuck in this piece of property and you do not like importees, do you? You can raid the house at 18 des Lilas in Kirkland and make the national news. It will be my pleasure to expose you fucking Nazis for what you are, Nazis. Bye bye, Julius Varadi”.
C. In September 2011, Mr. Varadi started to send hate emails to Pratt and Whitney Inc. In February 2012, he sent an email to the president of Pratt and Whitney stating that he should be “hung, shot by a firing squad or better yet decapitated”. Another disgraceful email followed in March 2012.
I defy you to find one of our professional colleagues that would describe that as reasonable or appropriate.
You keep tilting at windmills though and enjoy retirement. We should all be as lucky to have as long and varied carrer as you.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
OK, you seem to want to crucify the person. Because of email. Not because of overt actions, because of email. This is justice in canada, and you are the hanging judge. Of course, you find it appropriate to post it on a thread that has nothing to do with one insignificant persons ''character'' but enjoys parading the evildoer, that would be me, for all to see.
Does this somehow give you pleasure, I suspect so.
Yep, I have a personality, which is more than I can say for you. It would be difficult for you to understand that apart from emails directed to serious jerks, nothing else is out of skew. Just another person living his life, but omygosh, I have the balls to......send damning emails. What a fucking serious crime.
You will be happy to know that you are taking down a widow, who has not so much financial resources, a disadvantaged brother, a wife with chronic cancer, along with me.
On the road to poverty, and certain destitution. Fitting end to justify natural justice, is it not? Natural justice for a nasty email writer.
You wanna play this game, lets play.................
Sorry to all of you who need to witness this stupid stuff. Dr Evil, that would be the sharklaser thing, between you and me, who is the more fucked up person?
Carry on everyone else, I hope this neanderthal finally drops the subject.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Let's not get carried away here.
We've all had those thoughts. I'm sure most of us have either jokingly, or in the heat of the moment, threatened another person at sometime or another in our lives.
Our colleague here was, unfortunately, dumb enough to put these thoughts in writing, in a medium that cannot be erased.
We've all made mistakes in life. If you think making mean comments on the internet is some sort of big crime, well ...
I truly hope that the people speaking in this thread are not Air Canada pilots. What a sight.
That's all I have to say.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
The new PMA is like a Catch 22. You have to be mental to fly for Express and work your ass off for 30 grand a year. To fly for Air Canada you now have to fly for Express. So in order to fly for Air Canada you have to be crazy but they psych test people so they don't hire crazies.

ummm....where does the 30K quote come from, just curious.
I know for a fact that SR FO's were making 45-50K, and that was a few years ago.

I can back up confusedalot. SR 1st year FO's are making that salary in 2018. Most doing 50k their first year. They make $50 per credit hr + USA per diem (not including OT).
