Re: Private Air
That is the pay, but the successful applicant can expect an annual raise. Everyone does left seat and right seat training regardless of title. If you have an ATPL, then that time in the left seat is loggable as PIC also regardless of title. We hire captains or future captains, not just right seat meat. We want people to stick around and opportunities will present themselves.

That totally depends on how you bid.Torresdenochea wrote: ↑Wed Apr 18, 2018 7:17 am Yep, just wanted to make a comparison with Regionals. I think 8-10 nights a month you are away anyway and fly a lot more.
I’ve got it down to a science and I have about 3 to - not more than 6 nights away from home every month. One day pairings are glorious, as long as you’re not a commuter. This month I did 5 nights away, which is my average.

Re: Private Air
If you're signing the logbook - salary goes up. Some companies do the left / right based on PF / PNF which is a great way to do it if the both pilots have ATPLs, as it reaffirms the roles regarding who's flying and non flying.indieadventurer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 18, 2018 7:27 pm The salary in the job ad, 60k, is that the pay for FO or does it go up once they are experienced on the plane and alternating left seat every other leg, like the ad mentions.

Exactly the kind of flying I want to do, too bad I'm shy of the requirements.

Couldn’t agree more.... I took a stab in the dark when I applied 5yrs ago. Had thought my chances were virtually zero...here we areschnitzel2k3 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 20, 2018 6:47 pmNever too early to establish communication and repertoir.

Re: Private Air
I guess it wouldn't hurt to get my name and interest registered. I have a young family but am very flexible. Only thing I would look for is to have at least 1 weekend a month guaranteed off in the summer time to spend with the family. Winter time I don't ever leave the house so if I can spend it down south I won't have a problem with that though my wife might be jealous if I come back with a tan.
Re: Private Air
The only issue with Private Air is that they've not yet realized the massive untapped market in Ottawa in both business opportuinities, and the cohort of some of the most talented, knowlegable, reliable, and humble pilots on the entire planet....

Re: Private Air
Well Dan,
If I knew of an untapped market I'd be banging on all the neighboring C level execs doors and working on aircraft managment deals - preferably on a new 8X and eventually something supersonic.
I was once told I'm full of piss and vinegar, I'm sure one day that'll be of some use.

Yeah I’ve heard that billgeno and TeePeeCreeper are awesome guys!
Re: Private Air
Lol, we really are.. Well, DanWEC and I are, I can't talk about TeePeeCreeper though - after all, I don't think he know what to do with a second power lever and anything more than push button start is beyond himcdnpilot77 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 21, 2018 3:34 pmYeah I’ve heard that billgeno and TeePeeCreeper are awesome guys!
Seriously though... If there were an aircraft here with a great owner under fantastic management, you would have to pry me outta that seat when I am finally too old to fly.

That’s a very nice comment... thank you? (I think?!?)cdnpilot77 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 21, 2018 3:34 pmYeah I’ve heard that billgeno and TeePeeCreeper are awesome guys!
Bill is just jealous because I just had my suit dry cleaned again in anticipation of escorting his lovely wife to yet another gala... she also know’s that I only have one “power lever” but I’ll refer them both to my “councilour” in regards to “ah” more sensitive issues in regards to Billy only having two power leavers rather than one....
Dan... what a guy... the humblest one I know?!?
As for the “donut seat”... what a crock of you know what... everyone knows or should that one is suppose to place “les suppositories” in the freezer prior to use...Just a word from the wise gents’...
All the best,
