Haven't heard any details except job action is off the table and both parties agreed to mediations and binding arbitration if necessary.

Alpa caved as the lockout was imminent. Alpa “rejected a Final Offer Selection arbitration process, where one side wins 100% and one side loses 100%. Instead we agreed to an interest-based mediation/arbitration”

Not doubting it, what happens to the OTS hires if this is the case?

No one is arguing the part in quotations.

How is agreeing to a process that allows mediation and only if necessary on unfinished items, arbitration, considered “caving”? We don’t want a lockout, just as we don’t want to have to strike.

Everyone knows that this wasn’t going to be a huge all out slam dunk win on every item rather a step forward towards industry standard that we are now so far behind.

Only question left is what did the MEC do to get this win, and what happens to the non-WJ OTS hires?

Read between the lines. They caved with pressure from the lockout and minister probably taking away the strike card.

Where would we be if under the direction of the former WJPA Mr Demeter? Most of us flying Swoop aircraft for 40% less and working more days.

No strike means the companies public image doesn’t take the full on negative PR hit.

Unfortunately we have the deal with your types at the company for the time being

So you read between the lines to deduce that the minister would take away the strike card, but not take away the lockout card. I want to have your level of crazy.

Demeter,
We just got the #1 thing on our wishlist. And you think that we caved?
You're nuts.

+1. Biggest line item. Other things are icing. Now both sides can save face with binding arbitration.

I would think the pilots hired for swoop will be given the option of joining the mainline.
