Of the last few months when PIT courses were running how many RP spots were offered? Sounds like a good 75% of the new hires were going narrowbody FO. Just curious as it sounds like the RP spots are becoming more sought after at least for commuters.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Not much RP where offered in the last few months aside from the one in June in think. Currently, a lot of open on the 320 for YYZ... I wouldn't surprised if the next few courses a big chunk of new hires will get that.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Got an email for inperson. It said they are conducting interviews for fall course dates.
Any tips or any other help for the in-person interview ?

Yeah, ..... wait for it.....just be yourself!!!
Sorry couldn’t resist, makes me laugh when people say that!
Normally a good idea to have ready some examples of when you went above and beyond, any emergencies, any poor performances and why, what do you bring, things like that....and of course watch the medical, get plenty of rest.....good luck.

Sep 10 and Oct 22
calls started going out last week
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
No thanks, I'm already doing that for birth control. Can you recommend someone else to be?
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Are they not running a class every three weeks? Is there nothing planned for October 1st?
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Be NickyNick... that will solve all of your interview issues... or be Batman.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I would guess that your estimate is accurate. There was one small class that was all 787 RP, but for the most part the classes have been 50% A320, and the other half a collection of other positions. RP spots were popular in my class, most went to the senior half of the class. Your mileage may vary.FighterPilot wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 9:49 am Of the last few months when PIT courses were running how many RP spots were offered? I am commuting, as a mainline 320 FO. I was able to hold a block very quickly, and while I don’t get the most productive pairings, I have managed to concentrate them together to make a reasonable commuting schedule. My July consisted of 2 days on/7 days off/7 days on/7 days off/7 days on. I spent a total of 6 nights in YYZ, 4 of which were between pairings within the 7 day on blocks.
Commuting will always add a challenge, but it is doable, even as a fairly junior narrowbody FO.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Does anyone know when they had the in-person interview? 1 month ago,2 months ago ,etc...
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Does anyone know the inside workings of the hiring process?
Is it true there’s a panel of people that get together and make the final decision on your application after you’ve interviewed?
How often does this panel meet? Once a month? If this was known one could determine when offers go out...?

Doesn't seem realistic, they are swamped right now with applications, interviews etc.
Offers usually go out 1 month before GS. At the latest 3 weeks

I reapplied in October 2017 and haven't heard back. Others in the same situation have.NotDirty! wrote: ↑Thu Apr 05, 2018 6:46 amI would think that the biggest limiting factor is the opening of the application portal. They say you can reapply in 6 months, but if they don’t accept applications for another year and a half, then it will be at least that long.dialdriver wrote: ↑Wed Apr 04, 2018 8:15 am Any guess on how long it can take to get a second interview after being PFO'd the first time?
I was PFO’d in 2012, didn’t reapply until 2016, and interviewed in early 2017, started PIT in Feb 2018.
I must say, the first interview was not a great experience. They seemed disinterested, just asking questions and writing answers. It was over fairly quick. The HR lady did not even get up or shake my hand when I entered the room (intentional?) When we were done, I felt like she was marching me off the property and out the door with hardly a word said.
Afterwards, I realized I had blown a couple questions, but I am wondering what happened overall. With all the hiring of apparently less qualified people since my reapplication, I figure they aren't too impressed with me.
Should I give up?

Don't give up on AC or WJ - when the US airline's lobbying for pilot open border is successful they'll beg you to join.
