China, whatever his name.

Post by flyinhigh »

Curious if anyone else here close a thread immediately when they this meatball post?

I’ll start with the last few posts about Encore, I opened them up, say he started them and closed out the thread.

I can’t take it anymore.

Get a life....

Hey flyinhigh. I'm nearing the end of the legal analysis of ALPA's behaviour with respect to the One List, so the anxiety you're currently experiencing should begin to abate shortly.

I'm devoting more and more of my energy to recruiting subscribers for Pewds in his battle to retain YouTube supremacy over T-Series. Please consider becoming a sub.

You know how when you pass the guy yelling about the end of the world and you pity / Ignore him.. ? Same thing.
He just doesn’t know any better / can’t help it.

It IS kind of funny watching him devote ( waste ) so much of his own time. All you can do is feel sorry for him.

I used to really enjoy CAAC, NCP, Weedpro’s posts. He had a slightly different take on things and I’m always interested in hearing positions that I don’t necessarily agree with in favour of healthy dialogue. However, the purpose of communication in general, and quasi-legal arguments in particular, is to convey ideas from one person to others and back on the key points in a discussion. If you communicate in a way that does not effectively convey ideas on the main issues, you’re not communicating at all. Constantly creating new user names, long rambling superfluous posts, multiple postings and never actually creating a dialogue doesn’t amount to communication and it is certainly not healthy.

When I was practising at a law firm, we would often get cases where the person bringing the lawsuit didn’t have a lawyer. Having a “self-rep” on the other side of a file was always a challenge. The worst was when you would get a self-rep who was just a little too smart for his own good (but didn’t have legal training). They understood that there were statutes and regulations, different levels of courts and a division of federal/provincial powers, but they would spend countless hours and thousands of words writing about matters that were not relevant issues in a particular situation.

It was extremely frustrating because with legal training and an understanding of the jurisprudence and issues at play, you knew that what they were huffing and puffing about was not an issue. However, trying to explain why they were wrong was basically an effort in futility. After you’d outline the reasons for your position or why they were not correct, they’d bring up an unrelated, non-relevant point or piece of legislation - “Ah ha! Now prove me wrong!”

The good thing in that situation as an opposing party in a lawsuit was that at the end of the day, if the self-rep did not want to settle the lawsuit, you’d appear in front of a judge. It was a regular occurrence where a judge would tear into a self-rep for wasting court time with irrelevant and wrong legal points. The best was when they would start to argue with a judge (hint: don’t do that!).

On a message board though, there will not be any admonishment from a judge so the only choice is to engage or not. I have choose not to. Not because I’m worried about being wrong but because the basic principles of communication are not there with any sort of dialogue with this poster.

New Commercial Pilot, WeedPro2000, CAAC-China et al has some of the same traits as a self-rep. He’s an intelligent fellow. He’s perhaps just a little too smart for his own good (but without legal training). I, like many people on these boards have stopped reading his posts. I can’t say that he’s 100% wrong on every single point, but the amount of irrelevant drivel that he includes simply makes any argument untenable. As someone who enjoys good discussions and debates, I have to say it’s actually disappointing that he doesn’t do a better job of condensing his thoughts and reducing the significant amount of extraneous information in his posts.

The really sad thing is that his constant posts on the various boards ends up stifling any sort of constructive discussion on a particular topic. WestJet in particular is going through extremely interesting times that, in my opinion, warrants interesting discussions about the industry and its future. But, whether he realizes it or not, his posts are actually hindering the discussion. What’s worse, is that I’d suggest his posts are reducing the number of readers on the board (honestly, I think it keeps new members from coming back and likely affects AvCanada’s revenue). It’s my hope that some day he’ll join the rest of us with interesting, consequential and relevant discussion.

There have been many instances where I have typed up lengthy well researched responses, trying my best to avoid commentary that would lead to the typical name calling and personal attacks. Then, when I'm just about ready to push that glorious submit button, it dawns on me, again, that Mister multiple personalities will not bother reading or listening. There will be a side step. Another thread created. More unintelligible banter derived from a quick search of Canli or ancient Alpa Archives. ALPA and WJ internal memos or emails carelessly pasted.

The whole premise here should be to foster open discussion on these topics. I always value every proponent of a view point or opinion other than mine. So long as the other side respects the premise that both of us are simply providing each other with a different perspective and opinion.

I do now see a trend and wonder what Johns angle is. Theres no way someone would put that much of their own time and energy into something like this without an attempt to gain. What is that angle? Where is that gain?

Is he pissed off that the company will be closing the loophole in their agreement that he was exploiting? Is the tiny sum of ALPA dues going to adversely affect him that much? Does he think he stands to gain financially from a lawsuit? Has the company handed him some cash to stir the pot?

Or has he simply lost his mind?

Rowdy, out of curiosity, AvCanada says I am averaging 0.98 posts per day under this account, and it says you are averaging 1.00 posts per day, if it matters.

First of all, I do not think "lost his mind", is a clinical diagnosis, nor do I think it politically correct or polite. Perhaps, "clinically depressed", "mood disordered", "personality disordered", "mentally-ill", are the types of medical terms you were unsuccessfully reaching for.

Am I pissed off? No. In fact I am likely in the most emotionally balanced period I have ever been due to secure finances, no mood altering substance use, no fatigue issues, and active interests outside of my occupation along with sufficient family and social interactions to keep me accountable and socially engaged. So, no, nothing a third party is going to do is going to "piss me off". I alone determine my reaction to external events and let's just say that being satiated with life is where I find myself at the slightly past mid term age of 52.

To correct your interpretation of the WJPA negotiated pilot agreement, I was and am not exploiting a "loophole". No sir. That may be what you have been led to believe, but I conduct myself within the boundaries of an explicitly negotiated ability to offer up my shifts for trade. Usually someone considers there to be value in what I offer and then I am left with room in my schedule for the accepting of OT shifts on offer by WJ. I understand there to be a similar arrangement at Rouge, but I could be wrong (Do you know?).

The "tiny sum" of ALPA dues will not materially affect my lifestyle.

I do not think I stand to gain financially from a lawsuit.

If the company had handed me money to "stir the pot", that would be a violation of the Canada Labour Code. Perhaps you could encourage someone to pursue that accusation/question so that we could open up my finances for review.

Spoiler Alert! I may have spent some money on porn...

Any other questions?

You're probably right. He's pissed his ludicrous overtime is going to go away and can't drop and manipulate his schedule anymore. It's the only reason I can see, why he'd be so pissed.

lightchop, I'm unsure why you think a person has to be "pissed" to want to understand and explore the legal ramifications of an issue. I sincerely ask if you detect a scintilla of anger in the tone of my posts?

I think you ignore the ego gratification that a person might feel in seeing herself the center of a discussion. If anywhere, that's where I'd go to seek understanding of a person's motive. Perhap's she is just a megalomaniac...

Alternatively, she is just a fan of trolling. She likes engaging with and getting a reaction from people on an anonymous internet forum.

Additionally, it's possible that she feels that a certain unfairness has occurred to a group of employees and seeks to determine where restitution may be found.

Finally, it may be just that listening to hours and hours and hours of 10 hours of crab rave has started to affect primary thought processes.

Good thing that we have someone on this site qualified to conduct a legal analysis into ALPA's behaviour.

In other news, my mother-in-law is just finishing her FEA structural analysis of the B787 wing spar.
