Hmm ok thanks. I guess I did technically apply before but that was about 6 years ago. Have you gotten an interview?

No interview of any kind yet-Fingers crossed. I have been applying steady for years. I believe if you used the same email six years ago, then that would explain your situation.

Anyone know if they have Feb and/or March GSs scheduled? I know calls have gone out for the Jan 7th and I would assume the 28th course as well?

There’s a course every 3 weeks with 30-40 people for the foreseeable future. They tend not to have many during the summer though.

Thanks, just trying to get an idea of how far ahead they’ve “filled” the ground schools.

Hello all,

I have a question about updating my resume. I would like to update my resume from time to time by adding accumulated hours. Perhaps I am missing something, but it's not obvious to me how this is accomplished on the application website. I suppose I could keep submitting new applications as my hours accumulate, but I am thinking there may be a better way than having to continually submit new applications.

Is anyone able to offer any assistance in this regard?

Also, I note in a previous post that an applicant was concerned that he/she had not received an "email shortly" after submitting the application. I submitted an application (2nd application) about one week ago and I have not yet received the email.

Can anyone confirm definitively if I should expect an email, or is it because this is my second application I should not expect to receive an email?

Thanks very much for any assistance.

Only way to update your hours on the website it to reapply. You should get a confirmation email when any application is properly submitted, but apparently certain browsers don't work as well as others in making sure they receive it. So if you don't get that email I suggest using Firefox or Google chrome to submit your application.

You will not receive an email to subsequent applications for same email used on the same job ID as per Air Canada’s tech email. This should clear up all the confusion.

Because they need 600 pilots just to stay on track with vacancies and the new FTDT rules. Hiring will not slow for likely they next 2-3 years

By 2020 the average Air Canada pilot will only have 7 years service with the Company. I suppose that means that if you have 8 years service in 2020 you are in the top half of the seniority list.

As many as 500 this year and 400 next year. Then tapering off to around 200 a year after that. Air Georgian pilots will likely make up a large portion of the classes for the beginning of the year. If they meet the requirements.

Having minimal seniority spread sucks, and will suck more with time.

Here the latest bulletin from the VP of flight ops
Cheers

FLIGHT OPERATIONS NEWS
This last year was a busy year in which we hired 453 pilots and we anticipate hiring
the same amount this year. I am often asked what we look for in new hire pilots. We
like some education and that they come from a good flying school with good practical
experience in the industry. We also prefer pilots who have come through our regional
airlines as they are the closest match to our operation and SOPs. But we do also hire
approximately 20% for other airlines and organizations.
The most important thing we look for is a pilot who wants to work here, respects the
job, respects the profession and appreciates the tremendous opportunity they have
been given here due to the hard work of the pilots and all employees who have and
still work at Air Canada. Our present success is due to this hard work and to continue
in this direction everyone needs to understand our past and understand our future.
Each new pilot also needs to understand and appreciate this.
Our training department is working at 120% and we are doing simulator sessions in
YYZ, YVR, FRA, LGW and MIA. This will continue during the rest of the Spring and then
start up again in the Fall for our existing crews and we will continue training new hires
during the summer.
