Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Any idea if the april 22nd class has been filled?
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
The April 22nd class is only 2 weeks away, calls went out as noted previously.
Presuming the next course is May 13th if on the 3 week cycle. As far as I know, no one has received a call for this date yet. Would calls be expected to go out this week or the following?
If one had their references checked the last Week of March is that a good sign?
Good luck to all who want the job!
Brrrrrr...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Is there any way to see the progress of your application? I first applied 2.5 years ago and just a few months ago updated my resume on job 18853 non-express portal. Did they slow down interviews due to the Max being grounded or something?

The Air Canada OTS thread
I've had an application in for about the same amount of time and looking for same info. Also curious, when updating your application, should you "save" or "submit" each time? I've been told if you hit submit, it goes to the bottom of the pile. Can someone please elaborate on the best way to update? Thanks!

If you’ve passed the 4 week mark after interviewing that’s usually a good sign.MorePower! wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 11:23 amYep still waiting also. 4 weeks todaySAExpress wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 10:58 amNo word yet? Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
It's been done before when interviews were much harder to get. My little company averages one per year but bear in mind it's never been one of the sub-thousand hour group who are climbing over each other to get to the door. I think AC's lowest bar to the interview is 2000 hours total.faculties11 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 4:58 pm What are my chances of getting an interview at AC with no 705 experience?
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Anyone know if there is a course on May 13th? I’m just going on every 3 weeks so I’m guessing there is. And they should be filling that one soon. Have any calls gone out?
If anyone gets a call for that course, could you post it on here just so we’re all in the loop?
Thanks to everyone for all the info so far! It’s very helpful

People do get hired from 703/704, but you are not as competitive and trying to stand out in a larger group...faculties11 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 6:32 amI'm wondering if I am better off going to the express carriers or sticking it out here as upgrade times are quicker.seven-oh-nooo wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 5:16 amIt's been done before when interviews were much harder to get. What type are you on? How much are you flying? What's your background?
If you are about to upgrade on a turboprop and don't have much PIC experience, I'd take the upgrade, and then immediately throw my resume in with Jazz/Sky, and plan to go 705 with 500 or so multi-turbine PIC in my book. That diversity of experience is a plus...
There is a big focus in the company right now in training on the basics, no automation, raw data, hand flying... I think especially that a lot of people joining now are only coming through the express stream, have always been dispatched, and only managing automation through their careers. That 705 experience is good, it's valuable - and it's generally a better job - but showing diversity in your background, that you survived a few thousand hours fending for yourself running in a Beech or Metro, including time as a Captain, strengthens that and makes you more competitive IMO.
