What happened? Was it a planned fuel stop in Gillam?

Hard landing maybe, notam says disabled aircraft, runway closed till 5z. Not likely a crash, tsb wouldn't allow a/c be moved that fast.

Duel engine failure, landed short of runway on the ice and hit the shoreline. Knocked the gear off and more.

I thought it was around 6pm that this occured. How did you get that info so quick? Assuming you weren't in the airplane...

Sorry, reference to the Manitoba privatization. Stands for Request For Proposals. The government is getting pitched by a bunch of medevac operators to get the province wide contract.

Crashing a plane probably doesn't look good for that, but on the other hand, crashing one without anyone getting hurt is pretty impressive.

Which company was operating the plane?

Request For Proposals. The air ambulance service in Nunavut is contracted to Keewatin and is up for renewal in 2022. Standard Govt. procedure is to request proposals from interested agencies before settling on one that will provide services.

Three major possibilities for a dual failure...
1.)mechanical issues with both engines at the same time (Highly unlikely)
2.) Fuel contamination
3.)Too much Air in the tanks.

To be fair to my fellow aviators, I’d be betting on #2.

Correct that it doesn’t look good for a RFP bid..

Renamed the thread so the title was a little more informative.

In my opinion If it was fuel contamination it would happen much earlier in the flight. How long is the flight from Iqaluit to Gilliam ? 2 hrs ??

Not necessarily, could be certain fuel tanks that were affected.

Except on a King Air, you transfer the aux fuel into the mains as there's room to accept it. By landing time, they'd long since have emptied the aux tanks and be running on the main tanks. Fuel would have been mixed long ago.

It will be interesting to see what the real investigators discover.

4th possibility is single engine failure compounded when you shut down the wrong engine

We must wait for the TSB to figure out why they crashed and that could take years.

In the mean time we must not even think about what could have caused it.
