Go through what we have gone through and you would not be acting like a condescending prick. It is not my temper getting the best of me it is pure frustration and stress. You have not contributed anything positive so WTF are you still doing pissing your little stream into the wind for! Piss off and pick up another thread. AvCanada should review your Moderator status.

Thanks for all the help received so far from the real AvCanada aviators and I will PM you guys shortly.

Doc, ever think that perhaps he doesn't have the money? Especially while leaving his bussiness behind? Poor comment from a moderator who seems to be speculating.

I had a good friend who flew down in T and C, and he mentioned that the locals can be agressive to outsiders, which is why he left. Packing 300lbs of dogs and all your possessions can be huge cake. Isn't that what this website is for.......to help each other out?

Doctor Troll's comment didn't even phase me.

Everything Doc posts has negative connotations, is condescending, or is aimed to get a laugh at someone else's expense.

Hey Doc, prove me wrong...

Well, let's see, 180. My first post was something to the affect, that if he were really in harm's way, it would be better to leave than "shop around". My next comment was to google air charter companies in Florida, and then to actually offer to go get him myself. So you great master of whit and wisdom, where is the negative in that??

Seriously, Doc: reread your post. It's drooling with criticism. I can see how springbok got his knickers wound up. Sensitivity training at AVCANADA?

Thanks for the support.

I should have responded this way instead of climbing into Docs character but my frustrations got the better of me. I apologise for the choice language but not for content! Doc was wrong to make assumptions. If I was shopping for a charter I would have done so on the www. I was hoping to rather pay the $4000 to $5000 to someone who needed the money and experience more than a busy charter operation.

I have a lot of loose ends to tie up so that I can recover as much as possible. Over US$500,000 is still here in equipment and aircraft. My wife is going to stick it out with me (safety in numbers) and we will leave as soon as we can. I just want to arrange the charter so that it is ready at a moments notice.

A lot of guys responded with some good possibilities out of Ft Lauderdale and MIA with light and heavy twins and even Citations for the same price so all was not lost. We will advise when back in Canada and I hope to see some of you when I start flying "back home" I have even had a couple of job offers which goes to show there are some really solid folk out there. Thanks to all

Springbok :

On another subject..

Are the T & C 's still a safe heaven for stashing cash outside of Canada?

Or have their banking practices been compromized like happened in Grand Caman?

Cat
My wife is the expert on this as she comes from a banking and financial back ground so I quote her instead of dispensing my own pearls of wisdom:

Yes, the TCI is still a tax free haven for Canadian citizens but that is where the good news tapers off. Try to avoid the banks as they are incredibly disfunctional and riddled with fradulent activity. Scotia Bank for example has to budget at least 2 million US$ per annum in order to absorb losses as a result of fraud, theft and teller / personnel mistakes. Needless to say, their interst rates are low and their banking costs high. The banks here do not really offer investment vehicles and are just plain old banks.

The best bet is to invest funds in a reputed trust company of which there are plenty. The money in this instance is managed by portfolio and money managers and therefore offers more diversity and higher interest rates for investment.

Avoid smooth talking local businessmen, crooks, Canadians who have been here too long, Us Ex-patiats and politicians. That is me talking again!

Hell Doc, my wife has a habit of cleaning under the bed....she would grab all of it, and Martin and his cronies only want about 50% of it.
