Mountain flying with MrAviation101.
He aborts his takeoff and goes back to grab a hotel.
I think I would have not bothered taxiing out to try but I'm a chicken.
I was not on board so I don't know enough info but it's funny how the video made it look like things were not that bad as they lifted off.

The passenger? Maybe he was going to do some Oxy-acetylene welding during cruise.
I watched a bit again.
They're in the mountains, the plane is a 172 and there was possible icing in the pattern for one runway direction.
Maybe I'm being too critical. I would not have went out to the plane in those conditions unless I was going to taxi for parking, tie it down and grab my duffle bag.

From what I could see I certainly would have attempted a takeoff in those conditions. Someone should review effects of flaps though, not a good choice.
He says that's his instructor in the right seat. Is he doing his cpl or something? Why does he have an instructor who apparently doesn't do any instructing?

You don’t have to pay extras as much in non-speaking roles.
I'm not sure what's more depressing: That everyone has a price, or how low the price always is.

I think another problem was density altitude. He probably had full tanks, with a density altitude above 7000 feet. No wonder his lift wasn't feeling so great.
1. low pressure (29.89)
2. Big bear city is at ~6700 MSL
3. Temperature 5*C
However, I will never double guess a pilot's decision if they feel unsafe or something doesn't look right, feel right, or smell right.
Measure twice cut once.
