Re: New hire bids
Heard that the two last GS were yvr Q4 only, is that base super empty and they try to fill it up or is there still some quick lateral movement to other bases possible early during training or right after it ( In other words, should I plan to establish in YVR for 20 minutes or 20 centuries? )

Re: New hire bids
Lots of vacancies there. A friend of mine showed me their open flying I couldn't believe how much there was.de St-Exup Fan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 12:43 pm Heard that the two last GS were yvr Q4 only, is that base super empty and they try to fill it up or is there still some quick lateral movement to other bases possible early during training or right after it ( In other words, should I plan to establish in YVR for 20 minutes or 20 centuries? )

Re: New hire bids
I know this is dependent on many factors but what would the average time be to bid from a YVR to eastern base like YUL or YYZ?
Re: New hire bids
Another GS started this week, anyone happen to know what was offered ?

YUL probably right away. YYZ i don't know, probably a while type depending.LicensedToThrill wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 8:49 pm I know this is dependent on many factors but what would the average time be to bid from a YVR to eastern base like YUL or YYZ?
Re: New hire bids
I would say the majority of GGN pilots coming over will likely want YYZ base. YYZ used to be the most junior base but not any more. Quite a few retirements in the next 2-3 years though.

Re: New hire bids
So a new pilot at Jazz, for the foreseeable future, would likely be looking at a western base ? And a hard time bidding back out east to YYZ?

Re: New hire bids
It’s all going to depend on what type you get.
Q400 will have a tough time getting to yyz as the Q base is shrinking. If you get DH8 or RJ you could get to YYZ quickly.
If you want YUL they have all types and haven’t shrunk the base at all so YUL you could likely get to quickly.
YVR Q400 is super short staffed so likely quite a bit of that coming up in the up coming bids.

Re: New hire bids
What's happening with the Q in YVR? Is it because of upgrades? Flow? People just moving out of the base?

Re: New hire bids
Does anyone knows the dates for the November and December GS? Has anyone been called for one of them yet?

Re: New hire bids
All of the above plus for a new hire FO YVR from out of town it’s extremely expensive to live there. Loved the YVR flying I did but unless you have a place to stay it’s pricey out there.

Re: New hire bids
The good ol' Norman Wells Q base, competing with Warren up there eh
Just giver bud
Re: New hire bids
With YVR seeming to be the base for new hires lately and with the high cost of living there what options are there for commuting/crashpads ? And how fast can one bid out the base ?
