At least it is *near* a lake instead of *in* a lake.

What's that three now? Giving Keystone a run for their money..oh wait.
Re: New North Star Basler Accident
Did we ever find out for sure what caused the first accident? All I saw was that the engines were examined and had no mechanical fault.

Re: New North Star Basler Accident
It's only two airplanes, but they crashed the first one twice.
Maybe TC Ontario region needs some assistance from Prarie North on what to do with sketchy operations (Buffalo, Keystone). Only allowed to crash so many planes in a short timeframe before you are done.

Wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then.
Re: New North Star Basler Accident
Is that because the lake was frozen?
Contaminated wings on takeoff.
I doubt TC really cares what cargo pilots do to themselves.goingnowherefast wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 10:52 am It's only two airplanes, but they crashed the first one twice.![]()

I heard thunder miss as well at wunnamun. The pic I’ve see looks pretty misty in the background. Probably wasn’t great. Probably landed long and off the end.Illya Kuryakin wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 3:16 pm Heard somebody miss Wannawoman about 9:30, so WX might not have been great.

I guess I should write something here.
Re: New North Star Basler Accident
When is it enough?
What is the difference between crashing 2 passenger airplanes in 8 months or 2 cargo airplanes? Seems to mean something to TC.
Same all star at the controls.

Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the things you did do.

The Northwest Company might be regretting their purchase at this point.

Had to chuckle when I saw this today:
"The integration of North Star Air will lead to further synergies and better logistic solutions."

Re: New North Star Basler Accident
Fantastic logistics when the goods arrive on the frozen surface of a lake 1 mile from the departure airport. Do we know if the Sachigo incident happened on arrival or departure?
I'd imagine Northstar exec's and NW Company exec's are having some pretty serious conversations.

Thankfully the boys walked away again. Its so difficult to pack properly for these Basler recoveries. Skidoo, boat, chainsaw... which one to take???
Re: New North Star Basler Accident
Is it a different crew involved in each crash. It can't be a very large company.

Re: New North Star Basler Accident
Not sure which situation would be better: if it is the same crew every time, or a different crew every time. In both cases their are some giant red flags with the operation of that company...
Kudo though, that once again nobody died. Those are impressive numbers.

What part is impressive? Crashing 3 planes in 2 years? Or crashing 3 planes and 0 injuries?

Crashing one plane twice and a second plane once, off airport with 0 injuries.goingnowherefast wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 3:57 pm What part is impressive? Crashing 3 planes in 2 years? Or crashing 3 planes and 0 injuries?

Re: New North Star Basler Accident
First reports said "in the lake" so I was gonna suggest getting a couple pairs of them DC-3 amphibs from Folsom's down in Maine.
