It’s all the same, I wrote in Gander but my email just came from the general Nav Can recruitment team, not any single person. Failed In Gander, but I was in the Toronto pool. Sucks to suck but alas I hope I get an FSS invite.

Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
On the plus side 18 months isn’t that long and while they say you can’t really prep for the ATC, I could see how you could engage your brain in other ways to be better prepared for what it entails and still be successful in the course. I’m not gonna study for two years but I could see how just doing simple things would help.levinqute wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 8:38 am![]()

Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
Is it a 18 month wait before you can apply for a transfer? Thats not too bad.M92 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 8:58 amOn the plus side 18 months isn’t that long and while they say you can’t really prep for the ATC, I could see how you could engage your brain in other ways to be better prepared for what it entails and still be successful in the course. Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
I think it's 3 years for a transfer, but I was talking about a general retest for ATC, my bad! I've had a CBSA app in for 2 years now and have half the process left so 18 months is nothing for me lol
Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
Damn CBSA taking its sweet time. My friend's interview with BOC lasted 16 months and like 6 assessments and interviews, I thought that was long lol
I also just got the email saying I "achieved minimum pass mark and may be considered for further testing" is that the email the rest of you guys got?
edit: Status in workday updated to "Status:Interview"
I might have a chance yet.

Congrats! Same email as the one I got yesterday. It didn’t really have much info, so here’s hoping for the bootcamp invite soon!levinqute wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 11:56 amDamn CBSA taking its sweet time. What time did you get it today? I’m wondering if we may possibly hear about bootcamp in the next hour

Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
Yea confirmed with Joanne they are postponed until further notice.
Very unfortunate, training sessions are still scheduled for fall apparently.
Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
Y’all saw my joke and didn’t even laugh?! Ugh, low key offended. Maybe I should ask Joanne about FSS, reading more about it, it looks pretty cool too.
Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
LOL tbh I missed it.M92 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 3:30 pmY’all saw my joke and didn’t even laugh?! Ugh, low key offended. Maybe I should ask Joanne about FSS, reading more about it, it looks pretty cool too.
I wonder if you have to do another assessment for FSS? I dont think they test with FEAST. I have a feeling they are delaying that too.
Joanne responds super quickly so worth an email.
Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
Now worries, everyone’s probably really stressed about the current situation! I was wondering the same too about FSS, thanks for the tip! I just may have to!levinqute wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 4:25 pmLOL tbh I missed it.![]()

Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
With the recent announcement I really doubt that we will have assessments anytime soon. Cant see this dying down in the summer for us to start this fall I know its the last thing to worry about rn but unfortunate timing for all of us.
Good luck to everyone out there stay safe!

Did you try reaching out to NC?
Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
I did, no timelines projected as it’s delayed. Hiring is not but the recruitment and initiatives are. Aka they still are recruiting but due to COVID19 they’re putting things on hold as many have suggested.levinqute wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 11:09 am With the recent announcement I really doubt that we will have assessments anytime soon. Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
i can tell you all right now that we will probably not have a bootcamp for quite a long time. Navcanada is a private business (with public regulation) and their operational requirements have changed drastically. Licensed controllers have recently lost their overtime hours and airlines are on the verge of collapse as the skies are virtually empty. Even if this covid thing blows over in the near future, I would bet the house that Navcanada will be on a prolonged hiring freeze due to market conditions. Let's hope i'm wrong. Stay safe out there!
Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
It's really too early to advance any sort of comment or statement on what is going to happen. All I can say is in the past Nav Canada has completely stopped training and it we are still trying to catch up 19 years later. They have learned from this. I would be very surprised if they did a complete hiring freeze ,maybe a reduction.digitallic wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 8:32 am i can tell you all right now that we will probably not have a bootcamp for quite a long time. Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
I agree with Braun. There has finally been some progress made at getting us up to decent staffing numbers, so putting a complete freeze on long term would not help the situation. People are still getting older, retirements will still happen, and there needs to be new people to fill those holes. It can take a long time to get someone qualified, and the company & union won't want to be caught with their pants down when traffic increases again.Braun wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 8:26 amIt's really too early to advance any sort of comment or statement on what is going to happen. That being said, under the current circumstances, most (if not all) training has been stopped for now, including OJT in an attempt to keep the # of people in the units at any given time to a minimum.
Re: YYZ Feb. 2020
Over on reddit trainees were stating that their training was pushed back to May (with pay). So I think we have a good chance of having bootcamp in mid to late May with our training still scheduled for Fall. Joanne also told me that they are still planning on training for the fall but that was last week.
