How to stay productive?

Post by chapfo »

Hi.

With all this staying at home, I'm wondering what are some ways to stay productive.
I dont have all of the below, but let's say I do (also asking for ones who might have most/all of them).

-PPAER
-CPAER
-INRAT
-IATRA
-SAMRA + SARON
-AIRAF/AIRAT
-FTOPS + FTMET (overlaps with CPAER?)
-Multi isnt a written, but some theory to study.
-Float/Taildragger/Aerobatics would be similar to Multi? (I wouldn't get these ratings though, just something I'd like to experience)
-Heli?

What else can I study for?
What about something that there's no written test, but good idea to read up on?

Thanks!

I have been focusing on IFR these past few months, since I haven't been flying commercially for a "while".

It makes things a lot easier once you get back flying, I have found. The point above is a very good one: focus on one at a time. Eventually, you may realise that with that much effort, you can study for something that gives you a real job, makes real money, AND you are home every night. YMMV

I’ve been out of the game for a while, 15 years.

Planning on being a pt instructor in retirement, three years. CAME told me probably no medicals until august so I signed up with Harv’s.

Working through commercial ground school. They also threw in PSTAR course. Done that, review. Working through the air exercises now then I’ll hit the commercial course again. Started working on it already but it starts off heavy with Air Law and I wanted to start with some more basic refresher hence the PSTAR and flight exercises.

Figure I’ll go through it twice by August. Hopefully get my cat 1 and write the exam. Then hit the flight time.

Doing about 2-3 hours a day.
