AME (M) college Ontario Choice?

I got accepted to Centennial, Fanshawe, Mohawk, Canadore, and Algonquin a while ago but my top 2 choices are Centennial and Fanshawe. I have been unable to get much information about either program (I've called and gotten little to none info) and cannot go visit the campuses and talk to students due to the virus.

I was wondering if anyone can give insight into both programs.

Things I have gotten from friends in the industry (none of them went to either school)

Centennial: Closer for me being based in Caledon, has a reputation for being top 2 programs (with BCIT), good relations with Air Canada & the armed forces. Affiliated with some universities for degree upgrade. Seems to have gotten an improvement once they got to Downsview Airport. Besides the CRJ, the aircraft seem to be lacking. 18 month towards the 48 month licence.

Fanshawe: Has co-op (They wouldn't tell me if coop helps in the 48 month progress), 90%+ job placement during and after program, has the 727 and Falcon 10 and they've said the dash 8, been told that they have some of the best facilities and equipment, they're bringing in new aviation programs and hopefully once i get my instructors rating might be able to teach new student pilots.

I might go for Avionics once i finish my program but that is a maybe and i'd rather do it at the same school.

Hi if I was you I would look at some other kind of career !! With most Ames laid off right now and companies going out of business your chance of getting an apprentice job is less than zero !!Dont listen to the school I can tell they will say take the 18 month course and aviation will be booming by then.THIS IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN . I urge you to speak to experienced Ames they will tell you true story . Yes I am an ame for over 30 years m1m2 multiple endorsements can’t find a job right now one of many laid off due to corona

Just start with avionics, doesn't even matter which school, become an avionics rated engineer, it's a golden ticket.

Your time spent in an accredited school counts towards the requirement. Co-op should count as well, great opportunity to fill out your logbook.

You really won't have time to be a flight instructor too.

If Centennial is closer to where you currently live, I'd go there. Save your money for when you start your apprenticeship just incase you need to relocate. The real learning doesn't start until you get hired as an apprentice in whichever license category you choose. It is true that most airplanes are becoming more Avionic heavy, but unfortunately they are limited with what they can sign off on. With this Covid-19 situation, companies are tending to keep those that can be used in multiple area's. That being said, AVT's are worth their weight in gold more times than not!

If you want to spend 3 years in college consecutively then it doesn't matter what course you decide to start with, but if you take a break between M and E courses just know there is no ICS route for that transition (M license to E license).
