Sorry, to clarify. After the Oct. 24 and Nov. 7 courses, the previously planned Dec course is cancelled. So the Nov. 7 course will be the last till the new year. Didn't mean to scare you!!
Congrats RSU, new on here and still waiting for a call. I have noticed that there are some that have been interviewed and have been waiting anywhere from four to eight weeks. How are they selecting candidates for these courses. People have posted on here saying that if you dont get a refusal letter in three or so weeks its a good sign. Can you still get PFO'd after waiting 7-8 weeks? That would be pretty harsh to wait that long only to get turned down. Can anyone comment on this?
I sure hope that the only letter or phone call that I get now will be a good one. I've been waiting for just over 5 weeks and from what I know, it's just a matter of time to get a call. At least that's what I keep telling myself. I've heard that the Nov 7 course will have 19 people in it. Does anyone know just how many people have completed the interview/medical/cog test and are still waiting for a call or letter? Are we in some kind of a "pool" and ranked by who they liked best?
I have to remind myself that it's still MUCH better to be waiting for the "you're hired" call than waiting for an interview call. As well, Monday is soon approaching. Best of luck to everone in limbo

I keep telling myself the same thing! I do know folks who've gotten on sooner than others who'd interviewed earlier... so it certainly doesn't seem to be a first come first serve philosophy from interview to job offer. I can only guess that they're using their points system to assign seats in groundschool? Who knows... maybe they're trying to even out each class, too, in terms of experience, age, sex... not robbing one operation of all their pilots at onece? Could be a lot of things.
I have heard similar things regarding slowing things down a bit; however, on a positive note, I also hear that it will be full steam ahead come early 2006.
I guess time will tell.
Still sitting, waiting, wishing (Jack Johnson style!)
From my understanding they are rating you throughout your interview. After your done and they've completed a batch of interviews you are rated on a variety of diffrent levels. Those who get top reviews are sequenced to the next groundschool and so on.. The real secret if you didn't get a PFO you WILL be in a groundschool.
Hey Det,
I heard it around the crew room at work. Not sure if its true, but it might make sense to not have a course in December as training might be slower over the holidays? I dunno I'm just throwin stuff out there now.
For those of you who received the call for a November ground school. Just curious if AC called your previous employers and/or references that you gave before you got the call. None of my previous employers have heard a peep and neither have my references but it has been over 4 weeks since the interview.... talk about a dying a thousand deaths waiting!!

In my case, someone did call my present employer ... not sure about the other references though.
