There still isn’t even a non-quarantine free flow within Canada, can’t see an International flow happening anytime soon. Atlantic Canadians are still very much in support of keeping themselves isolated. I can’t say I don’t blame them, being so close to Quebec whose had days with more cases than the Atlantic provinces respectively have had in total.

I feel like the mandatory 14 day quarantine period could be reduced to an option of a 14 day mandatory quarantine period OR taking a test prior to entry and receiving negative results as well as two tests post entry that also show negative results, or something along those lines. Make it an option between the two. I’m not sure how the logistics of the testing would work, I’d say the individuals entering the country/region would still have to stay quarantined so maybe a mobile testing service somehow? Logistically it would probably be a nightmare and not possible, but it would be nice.

Essentially if you can prove you are not going to transmit the virus then why have to quarantine? Figuring out how to prove it will be the issue.

An initial test at the border may be unreliable, in the meantime, as in, just off an airplane where one could have been infected at a number of airports or airplanes, still asymptomatic .
Would have to repeat test in a few days, don't know how many. if not quarantined with an early negative test you could infect others.
Quarantine is the most effective and simplest tool available, but it is a pain.

I just had two friends that came from Florida on four airplanes and very busy airports with no one wearing masks and milling around at close quarters.
They isolated themselves in their camper on the back forty and all went well in the end. but I was quite concerned that they would have become infected somewhere along the way.
Most people don"t follow quarantine measures to the letter, they did.

I think public health should follow up on quarantiners during those two weeks.

Keep the border closed until our neighbours to the South rejoin the human race and take this pandemic seriously.

There is an element of madness surfacing south of the border. We don't need an influx of selfish and crazy people. We have enough here. We are just luckier since smaller population, more open space and no donald.
